Exactly 13 years ago, I released this horrendous #breakcore version of the Fugue and Toccata by Johann Sebastian Bach, including 8-bit sounds and samples from Mario Kart, and other unspeakable things.

One of the last things I ever did under the Matt Bleak moniker: this was a live set pre-recorded for the 3rd installment of the 'After Midnight' live-streaming festival on Digital Gabber Radio hosted by ENDE Records back in August 2020.
This was recorded during the second wave of Covid-19 here in so-called Australia. I was lucky enough to be in Gimuy / Cairns at the time so I didn't have to endure the 112 day lockdown that took place in my home-city of Narrm / Melbourne.
Anyway, as a final audio statement for the Matt Bleak project I think it worked out okay - it contains a fair bit of newer / unreleased tracks that were eventually reworked as material for The Recidivist (my latest project) and a bunch of older tracks too. Genre-wise, it's all over the place - industrial hardcore, noise, breakcore, speedcore and a bit of extratone too...I also did a CRASS remix / massacre on the fly as part of it...so anyway - a bit over 50mins of self-indulgent Bleakcore, haha - ENJOY! (or don't!)...

The band was founded as an attack on the Neo-Nazi subculture in Berlin and fuses left-wing, anarchist and anti-fascist views with punk, techno thrash metal and breakcore sounds.
In 1996 the Beastie Boys label licensed the album and released it in the US with extra songs under the title "Burn Berlin Burn".

Dimfigure was a hardcore, breakcore and glitch producer from Sydney. Beginning on the free party circuit in the late 1990s, he went on to co-found the crew and collective Prohibited Projects in the early 2000s, running underground hardcore parties with them until he joined Killerwatts Sound Systems (KWS) in 2003. As a member of KWS he was known for blistering hardcore and breakcore sets which mixed noise, hardcore, breakcore, glitch records and his own compositions.
