Playing around with my old #Canon #S95 point-and-shoot which is trendy because of its retro look, thanks to a #CCD sensor (most #cameras use a #CMOS sensor). The S95 is pretty cool, 13 years later -- it shoots in #RAW, and allows for HDR and multiple exposures, plus has some interesting "P menu" presets such as "positive color mode", which is supposed to replicate the look of color slide film. The camera doesn't do badly (if you don't blow up the image) in low light, like this image of Hey You.

Nimble and clever.

I have a #CanonEosM (from 2013) with #MagicLantern. It takes good photographs with the 22mm lense but does not work with the Ef-M 55-200mm.
Does anyone know anything about that?

Hah! A month ago, B&H suggested I bought the Canon V10 for my YouTube videos. Then, it was $429. After others dropped the price to $399, they followed suit. Now they drop it to $349 for Black Friday. I guarantee it'll be permanently $349 or less after New Year.

My own opinion based on having seen videos from that camera is that it's not $429, $399 or $349 better than the camera on my cellphone.

Come on Canon. It's as though you're not really trying!

Dear Mastodon hivemind - cartridges for my Canon PIXMA MP240 printer are getting ever more expensive.

I tend to buy the PG-512 and CL-513 carts, but oof they be pricey now. And so many after-market 'compatibles' where I don't know whether I can trust them to work.

Has anyone had good experiences with those ink refill kits, that come with a little hand drill and syringes?

Mulling my planned camera upgrade that is happening this month.

Body will be either a Canon R6 Mark II or R8.

Lenses… undecided. If I pick the R6 Mark II, I can only get the kit lens (RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM, non-L-series)

If I pick the R8:

Choice 1: RF 24-50mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM, with a RF 100-400mm f/5.6-8 IS USM (neither are L series)

Choice 2: body only + RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM

Choice 3: body only + RF 14-35mm f/4 L IS USM

So many choices…

Hey. I hear you and I am a tenant on #Country, so forgive me if I don't believe I need an #education on that bit of the program.

My question related directly to an #OAM being returned to the #crown by the recipient.

My sense of his point is and was then, that if OAMs represent the crown spilling #nuggets on the #floor around the table to keep the #Blackfellas quiet, then #returning it in recognition of the nuggets was the correct thing to do. I agree with him.

Did you know that fat #Clive was made a #national living #treasure? So was #Dr #Karl.

Were I Dr Karl, I would have asked to be removed from the list of people so honoured, since if Clive could get one, they were meaningless.

Anyone given an honour by the crown, is meaningless unless the crown accepts the fact that the land was not #conquered nor ceded by the #people who were here, leaning on #spears, watching the #invasion and having no idea what it meant, until the #muskets and #canon and #ropes and #gibbets began to take their toll.

I don't disagree that many Blackfellas have had a good run and ended up with #doctorates and so on, but they are precious few and far between.

Prof #Langton for example could not be considered an #exemplar of our #First #Nations in general. Wonderful #representative, but not a great example of Blackfellas #reality.

For that you'd need to visit a #prison, find a 40 year old #Blackfella with 20 years jail behind him or her. That is your example of Blackfella reality.

So, I agree with you that we have lots of Blackfellas who have done well. The fact that they are so #celebrated should give you a clear idea of where I stand.

Address the issue of the #OAM mate. The rest is seriously #irrelevant in the moment.
