As the catmint is a new purchase, and Major Tom was caught roughing it up when it first arrived, I've stuck it in one of my portable seedling nurseries to protect it, at least until it's a bit bigger. The catmint can grow up through the wire mesh where the cats can get to it.

Someone has put new catnip on the cardboard scratcher. I didn't know, ate a tonne of it then completely lost my sense of decorum. I was rolling around on the floor like a kitten and trying to kill the scratcher; I exposed my belly; I licked Eric! :blobcat_oh_no:

The trick with #catnip stuffed #cat #toys: initially they get "high" on it and play very intensely with it, but after some time (15 minutes?) the effect wears out and then they lose interest and leave it be. That's the time to pick it up, put it in a Ziplock bag and keep it somewhere where the cat can't reach it. Later on (next day or so) you can give it back and then the cat will respond identical to it. This way will prolong its effectiveness and joy 😹

When the catnip flowers, we cut the long flowering stalks and use them as cat toys. Some cats like to rub their faces on catnip or chew it a bit. Luna straight up eats the stuff. He really enjoyed munching on these catnip flowers this morning.
