It's got no copper, and even no solder mask. Just raw #PCB. And it has solder blobs on both ends. Nothing on the other side either.
The device is a 5V Samsung phone #charger from 2012. The "track" connects the high voltage and the low voltage parts of the circuit.

Someone please explain to me why some USB-C charger manufacturers continue to insist on hard-wiring the cable to the charger, such that when the USB-C connector wears out you have to throw away the whole charger instead of still replacing the cable. Why do articles typically make it sounds as if GaN and PD are alternative technologies? Surely #GaN chargers *also* implement #PD?
As I understand it, PD is the protocol that specifies how to (optionally, if the device to be charged handles it) provide more power through USB by using a higher voltage. GaN is a technology totally internal to the charger, that makes it possible to build them smaller. Right?

When I came home I checked the multi-port that works with the computer and it's 15 V @ 2 A, so 45W isn't really a requirement. The one I saw was just 12 V @ 1.67 A though and I guess that would have been pushing it.
