Even if Judge #Engoron's wife actually were the most virulent #Trump hater out there, haven't we already had it firmly established by #ClarenceThomas, and vigorously agreed-to by our #GOP leadership, that just because you are the wife of a judicial figure doesn't mean that the judicial figure is in any way influenced by your highly partisan activities?

I'm pretty sure that if I or most anyone else receiving those things, we'd be required to disclose them to the IRS and pay tax on the income. (Similarly, if I received gifts like that and didn't disclose them to my employer, I'd be fired for conflict of interest and corruption. Clarence Thomas was a corrupt sleazebag even prior to his confirmation, when he lied boldly about his sexual harrassment of Anita Hill, who told the truth — and many of us saw and knew that and could do nothing about it.
