The company developed the 503 alongside the 507 roadster in an attempt to sell a significant number of luxury cars in the United States. In the UK, it's a classic if the community agree it's a classic. (but the community is often wrong ;) )

It can be registered as Historic (OldTimer) once it's 40 years old (no tax or MOT (TUV) test requirement).

Clubs say that veterans were built before 1905, and vintage if built between 1905 and 1930.

I've got to get out there and finish installing the fuel pump relay on my #VW #type3 😩

I just have no idea what to make of this mess of old fucked up wiring, and a mental block about #electrical in general.

I think this is the "Voltage Supply Relay" so one of the wires that runs off of it will go up front to the fuel pump relay. Then I just have to figure out which wire runs to the ECU.

I think I need an induction loop meter...

I got my new fuel pump relay for my #vw #squareback, now I just have to find the wires that some monkey cut off to bypass the old one. The diagram shows wires running to the pump, ECU, voltage regulator, and auxiliary air valve. I *think* I know where all those are, and I have a test light so I can tell if they have voltage.

Image is looking down the rear wing of a white convertible car. The top of the rear indicator is visible, it sets the rounded shape of the top of the wing.
The boot lip has a chrome finished hinge, behind which the red roof has been stowed away. A large wooded rimmed steering wheel and round door mirror complete the picture.

There was some excitement around #WeirdCarMastodon last week about a #2CV with a wooden body.
Here from my weekend out is a car, that is no longer a 2CV, but is largely made of #wood! Its 2CV origins can be seen in the lights and fenders. All the mechanical parts are from a 602 CV that succumbed to chassis rot. Everything else was made by the owner! It is an incredible piece of work!

Made my first parts order for the #vw #squareback yesterday; just a gas cap, front turn signal lenses and some rubber seals for the engine lid. I don't want to put gas in the tank to flush it until I have a cap so it doesn't evaporate. I suppose I could go ahead and take the plugs out to see if they need replaced but the wires look new so I'm hoping it gets fire when there's fuel to spray.
