Sosol Beach is one of the #tourist destinations in the village of Sosol-Malifut, North #Halmahera. In coastal waters with a length of almost 1 km you can see the wreck of the Tosimaru Ship which is a Japanese heritage freighter during WW-II which sank due to bombing by the allies. Its location very close to the #coastline allows you to #boating around it.

#HALIFAX (as it is rebranded now) is a Municipality, from west of the City, to 100 mi / 160 kms, along the #EasternShore.
At one time, each village circled in GREEN, was a central point, a store, a gas station, a bus pickup, PayPhone or a #tourism destination.

In 60s, cousins & I sold fresh cooked clams to tourists on the #7 Highway, along the coastline.

Looking over green fields, bisected by the access road to a car park which can be seen to the right of the photo. In the middle distance, two lighthouses and a fog-horn can be seen, all painted bright white. The left most lighthouse is tall and tapering with a domed top containing the light. The right hand lighthouse is shorter and squat, with a flat roof enclosed by an iron fence. No light can be seen. In between the the two lighthouses is a small 1 storey building with a large black air horn on it's roof. In the far distance the coast of Somerset can be seen across the Bristol Chanel and shrouded in a slight haze. A large cargo ship sits just off the English coast. The sky is a light blue with thick fluffy white clouds.

Looking East along the coast. The visible beach is a cracked, grey limestone pavement with very large, irregular, rough stone blocks spread across it. The beach is backed to the left, by tall, near vertical cliffs of limestone and mudstone . To the right, a grey sea can be seen and beyond that the coastline of Somerset rises. The sky is a deep blue with high white thin clouds.

Nva Scotia "Canada's Ocean Playground" has no rules to protect its #coastline. Bill from 2019 no regs and not declared in force. Feels like the #timhouston Gov't is ready to announce open season on our coastline... Rich and powerful? - no worries about erosion or sea level rise and yes the province will pick up the cost when there is huge loss from hurricanes. We need a plan! ANd we need it now!!!
