The motherboard from my first machine, Jane 1.0. Purchased after I left Job Corp in June 1993 with the money I made from fighting fires with the Forest Service.
A Packard Bell I486 sx. with 4 meg of memory purchased from Service Merchandise. The math co-processor was purchased a few years ago. I was curious if one was out there. I kind of wish I had the whole machine.
Those with a keen eye can spot my shoddy solder work while attempting to replace a keyboard fuse.
Nothing makes me feel behind the times more than getting a new PC. It does not help that I pick the parts out for the build, but Rad Computers, out of Mesa, AZ, will do the assembly because they can do it 1/5th the time.
So, I am throwing my build (so far) of Betsy 3.0 into the Fediverse to see where I might go wrong.
I still have not figured out a case yet. It will be a full tower.

Ich habe schon lange einen Webserver, der aktuell unter #Ubuntu 22.04 läuft.
Dort ist #Postfix eingerichtet, damit ich vom Server Systemmails erhalte. Das läuft seit Jahren problemlos.
Auf dem neuen #VPS, ebenfalls Ubuntu 22.04, habe ich Postfix exakt gleich konfiguriert, aber die Mails wurden immer mit dem lokalen Servernamen statt dem Domainnamen als Absender versendet, was der #Mailserver dann ablehnt.
Die Postfix-Config beider Server x mal verglichen, keine Unterschiede oder Fehler entdeckt.
Dann bei der Recherche einen Hinweis gelesen, mann müsse eine Config-Datei /etc/mailutils.conf mit folgendem Inhalt anlegen:

email-domain domain.de;
};
Gemacht und schwups, passt die Maildomain und die Zustellung funktioniert.
Auf dem Bestandsserver gibt's diese /etc/mailutils.conf aber nicht und dort funktioniert es trotzdem 🤷♂️

Apollo 11 (Edition unread package insert) is a project using the computer to step once more into territory unknown to human beings.
The mission was completed in 2019, the 50 years anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing on the moon, where the computer was instrumental in enabling the astronauts for humans first step on the moon.
Today, 50 years later, the computer serves more than ever to generate new concepts and to advance into new spheres. In this project, the components of the commercially available scale-modelling set of Apollo 11 (Columbia & Eagle) were entered into a computer.
Using a machine learning algorithm, the computer created five different ways to assemble the model. These five models were all assembled far away from the instructions of the package insert coming along with the scale-modelling set and thus show a push into new dimensions previously untouched by human hands.

#Achievements so far this week, replaced the broken banana sockets on my Weir variable voltage PSU, needed the PSU to check out why my UPS was not working (battery failed), new battery ordered and replaced. Replaced HDD(500GB) and migrated OS to new 1TB SSD, so now have 2.5TB of storage.

I went into my local bookstore today. What a nightmare!
The magazine section that was a shelf 50 feet long, filled with all kinds of magazines, is now a tiny shelf with fewer shelves and maybe 15 feet long.
The computer book section that used to be fairly comprehensive is now filled with tawdry yellow potboiler books and precious little else.
The cafe is gone, taking away most people's reason to visit a bookstore and to buy books.
This is just about the entire computer books section. Nothing on Raspberry Pi. Nothing on Arduino. Nothing much on Linux. The vast majority is the awful yellow books.
I'm always up for good books. These are not good books.

I made a lightweight 2.5" to 3.5" HDD/SSD adapter, that puts the interface connectors of the 2.5" drive where the 3.5" drives has it.
It also supports threaded inserts, made in FreeCAD using the Spreadsheet function for easy adjustments, and it is open source.
I'm using 3 of these in HP servers now, they fit nicely and works fine.

Finally, Apple includes hardware ray-tracing in their desktops. This is the first time I feel some enthusiasm for Apple hardware again, since I switched from my late-2013 iMac with the last NVIDIA GPU to an NVIDIA-based Windows PC.

It's funny how not that long ago there was "The Family Computer." There was only one #computer in the house. We all had to share it and allocate time. I couldn't play my edutainment point and click games because mom was working on a spread sheet for the finances. Also those family computers were often in computer cabinets because god forbid you had company over and they saw you owned technology. Funny how times have changed. Now you have a super computer in your pocket. That's some #SciFi shit.
Last night I turned on my MacBook Air and noticed it said it wasn't connected to the Internet. I opened up internet preferences but it kept giving me a message that there was an error in network preferences. Idk what's going on, it was working fine until last night. 😆 When I searched online I saw I may have to reboot in safe mode and possibly reinstall the OS. Sounds like a huge pain. 😅
