I’ve completed the yoked sweater, my first ever of that type or with fingering yarn or with cables. The yarn is Drops Baby Merino in Amethyst and the pattern is the Copenhagen cardigan by Lille Bjorn. Intentionally made in a bolero length with 3/4 sleeves. Still needs washing and blocking #crochet.
Using a chart from a vintage pattern, using vintage cotton #12, 1.5mm hook for a tablecloth.
Almost halfway through the top, will see how much cotton I have left for a border to drape over the table edge before choosing the design for it.
Aiming to have it completed by August Civic holiday.

So i havent shared my process of my very first crochet project on here, but i did it. I finished it. I made this poncho all myself and i love it so so so much. Its not too warm as long as the weather is 20c and below. Now i wanna make another one. Or a shawl. Idk. Im just so proud of myself for not giving up on this. #crochet #creativeToots

“Red Oak” merino alpaca fingering yarn. There are just two skeins, which came back from @sealymacwheely as I did another restock on Thursday. She’s now had thirty new colourways in the last week or so, making today a great day to visit her shop if you’d like to see my yarn in person along with much much more as it’s a fabulous shop for fibre loving hand crafters of all kinds.
Funnily, and I don't know if it has to do with me being a leftie, for a long time I did my crochet inside out. And I actually like the look because it has less visible rows. But it creates issues with multi-colored pieces and has less nice endings. So now I'm trying this new technique, and it works quite nicely. #crochet #crocheting

Even with at least two ongoing ones (we're ignoring anything "old" here).
Reason: meeting of knit group in (looks at watch) two hours. And both my current projects are at a state where working on them requires way more attention than I'm able to pay when simultaneously chatting with (looks at list of attending people) 15+ other knitters and crocheters.

Observations on Crafting
No matter how many peskies (ends) you sew or weave into your work one more will appear once you have put your needle away
Heck, I'm about to donate some used and new tatting shuttles and knitting/crochet stuff to an indigenous charity I like.
But the way i think of it, it's great for giving to someone who wants to learn.
I kept a cheap Boye hook in my wallet in case I need to test out yarn, or in case someone wants to learn crochet.
Keep the hook!
Why doesn't it occur to people to share in their community? If you teach someone else, they might be able to teach you back.
Amazon is crazy with some of these shop listings.
Companies offering cheap knitting, crochet and needlework supplies. For one, they're cheap and numerous because they often break. (See also, plastic stitch markers).
Two, it's cheap to make a knockoff of an official product and use cheaper materials. (See Clover tatting shuttles. Tons of knockoffs. But the cheap ones are what tatting beginners can often afford, so I recommend those.)
