As I get older — yes, I'm officially old; I admit it — I become more aware of how much I've forgotten. Some of it may be lost forever at this point; gone from my mind and never that important to anyone else in the first place. Some of it though may still be lurking deep in my brain waiting for the right trigger to pull it to the surface.
So, I'm going to try a thing. Maybe it will work, maybe it won't. That's the whole point of this blog though, to just be or do what ever and see what happens. Basically I'm going to post random memories and I'm going to tag them with as many relevant tags as I can to see what cross-references.
Will this be interesting to anyone but me? Probably not. That's fine, I'm the one paying for the hosting.
And yes there are some memories associated with this photo which features most of my family including Dad, Mum, Ian, Chris, Granny, Grandad, Eilidh and more. I'll have to get to that at some point.

My daughter turned 18 recently. Among many other things it was very emotional when I gave her a 7 page letter of sorts, I had written 18 years ago.
That day, when I left the delivery room, I drove home, sat down at my desk and wrote about everything what happened that day and everything I felt.
I was a little bit anxious, while she was reading and then we cried together.

The rubber bung came out of the end of the fish tank water pump diffuser. It had shrunk over the years so it wouldn't stay put when the water flow started. In my draw of bits and bobs, alongside all the screws, nuts bolts and many IKEA Allen keys, I happened to have a set of different sized rubber tap washers, and one of them fitted over the bung flanges. Now it stays in!

Suffering from a pretty substantial 'eh what's the point' right now. I always knew having a second child would knock us back a bit, but I wasn't expecting him to literally be the *devil incarnate.
He doesn't sleep. He can't self soothe. He's so damn challenging and truly, I don't think we're upto that challenge.
* He's not, he's just significantly more challenging than our first was. We love him, but holy f**k kid.
