Just fixed a bug in newly added charts showing annualized deviation of excess deaths by select disease categories.
The "deaths since 2019" figures in legend were populated with inflated values. Math error.
Charts using only annual data weren't effected.

Interesting #dataviz exercise. Can this chart be remade effectively without using dual y axes? I initially misread the (non)significance of the relative bar/bullet sizes, but my efforts also have drawbacks.

#ggplot2 #ggpmisc #dataviz #ggplot #rstats I have added new pages and revamped older ones containg R code examples for plots to the galleries (https://www.r4photobiology.info/galleries.html) at my website about R (https://www.r4photobiology.info/). They demostrate the use of packages 'ggpmisc', 'ggpp' and 'ggrepel' for more easily adding insets, annotations and data labels to plots created using the grammar of graphics implemented in 'ggplot2'.

Your client wants an interactive. 🙌
Should it be a scrollytelling? Pull the analysis, tell the story. 📜
Should it be a dashboard? Give power to the reader, let them find themselves in the data. 👩💻
Why not both? 🤝
That's what we did for our latest project, released by the client this morning. We'll have the longer story eventually, but since it will likely take us months, here it is live, for your viewing pleasure.

Look at this simple bar #chart:
- Category labels in bars
- Dual tints in each bar
- Bold text for the two leaders
- Right alignment of values and their title
- Elegant fine horizontal lines
- Enlightening annotation
- Medium grey for source
So clear yet few achieve this level of polish.
