Someone matched with me. I said I hope you're not freaked out by polyamory, and they disappeared, like 20 minutes later, without saying anything.
I wish people would read my damn profile, and not match with me when they see something problematic.
Though, I guess it is possible that they are a scammer. They decided to match with me first. Then looked me up in their database and saw that I'm impervious to scams and decided to unmatch.
I recently changed some of my profile pictures... and maybe that makes detecting me harder??? 🤷

Lex est une application de petites annonces, pour les personnes queer (surtout lesbiennes et trans). Elle sert surtout d’application de rencontres amicales, amoureuses ou sexuelles et si elle n’est pas encore très connue en France, son format est pourtant hyper agréable et j’adorerais voir plus de gens l’utiliser !
Le fonctionnement de l’application
Les débuts se font très simplement : je m’inscris, je mets une photo si je veux, je me présente en une ou deux phrases, j’indique où je suis. À noter que malheureusement, l’application n’est pas traduite, c’est anglais obligatoire, mais bien sûr les gens peuvent poster en français.

J’ai droit à deux filtres : un pour l’âge, un pour la distance maximum. Et là, je vois tous les posts qui ont été faits à l’intérieur de ces deux filtres : considérations existentielles, appels à retrouver quelqu’un qu’on a croisé dans la rue et à qui on n’a pas demandé son numéro, proposition de soirée…

La règle principale de l’application, c’est « No Creeps Allowed », et la modération est franchement solide : je n’ai jamais vu un seul message désobligeant. Par contre, j’ai croisé pas mal de faux comptes en réponse à mes messages, donc vérifiez leur localisation !
L’application est approuvée par la fondation Mozilla pour son respect de la vie privée et des informations personnelles. Il n’y a pas de version web.
Trois personnes que j’ai rencontrées sur Lex
Un mec trans m’a amené à ma première soirée drag king, c’était au bar À la folie à Paris. On s’est revus quelques fois dans l’année qui a suivi, mais je ne l’ai jamais suffisamment remercié de m’y avoir emmené : je n’aurais jamais osé seul et cette soirée-là m’a vraiment ouvert tout un monde de l’expérience queer.
Une personne non-binaire m’a proposé d’aller voir Batman au cinéma en mars 2022. J’ai pas aimé le film, mais j’ai beaucoup apprécié nos discussions avant et après ! Iel a créé un groupe d’escalade pour personnes queer après notre rencontre, parce qu’on avait parlé de notre difficulté à faire du sport (c’était avant que j’aille à Eaux’zons le genre). J’aime pas l’escalade, mais aux dernières nouvelles il y avait une bonne dizaine de membres dont pas mal de personnes trans et non-binaires et ça fait toujours super plaisir à voir.
Et puis enfin, il y a eu cette femme cis dont j’ai failli tomber amoureux. Elle était allemande, faisait un stage dans le coin. Elle a posté une bêtise sur Douglas Adam, j’ai répondu avec une bêtise sur Terry Pratchett, on est allé·es se promener ensemble dans Paris, prendre un verre à la Mutinerie évidemment, on a fait un pique-nique au parc Montsouris et on a brunché vegan un matin. Et puis elle est repartie, mais je pense encore à elle parfois.
(Bonus : je suis tombée sur une copine trans récemment out au gré des posts, ça m’a permis de lui écrire et on a passé des super soirées ensemble, y compris une au Elles Bar.)
Je vous conseille d’installer Lex et d’aller vous y présenter en français, même si vous êtes au milieu de nulle part. Vous verrez, il n’y a pas énormément de monde sur l’application en dehors de Paris, mais c’est à nous d’aller la remplir. L’application est super, ne reste plus qu’à être assez de monde dessus pour qu’elle devienne fabuleuse.

* There's a name, a distance, and "39 Woman, Bisexual."
* One picture.
* The picture is solid black.
* No profile text whatsoever, no desires, no interests, nothing.
I'm wondering if someone is conducting a test. :catthinking:

I passed on a girl this morning. Nice profile. Wanted an older man. However, she also wanted a sugar daddy. So, no.
You do you, but I've been able to have relationships without taking on that role.
So the one girl that I matched with yesterday is still there but hasn't talked to me in like 17h. That does not look good.
Possibilities:
1. She had a grueling day at work.
2. She changed her mind.
3. She's a scammer that's been caught by the platform, and they are asking her to verify her identity.
Option 3 is a distinct possibility, I've had a few people with whom I matched. We talked, they went silent for a while, and then their account was deleted. (Yes, I can tell the difference between people unmatching from me, and people who get their account deleted.)

I still have one of the straight person that liked me in my prospects (different from the person I'm talking about above0. I'm waiting for her to disappear into the ether when the platform decides that she's a scammer.
Pro-tip: It is a good idea to check whether your dating pictures can be found with a reverse image search.
Why? Because when I find someone's pictures all over the web, I report them.
I've just done it for mine.
I know what I sound like. The fact of the matter, however, is that nothing good has ever happened for me when I matched with #straight people.

I used to match with them, only to discover that they were scammers, crackpots, or some other nonsense. Nothing good ever came out of it.
I'm not saying no straight person can love a #pansexual man. My ex-wife is a case in point. However, these folks are rare.
Yet another straight person who likes me. I'm thinking "scammer" again. A reverse picture search revealed nothing, so I'm keeping her in my likes without liking her, like the previous straight "person" who liked me.

I don't look like a model myself. I look more like some sort of unholy union of Wilford Brimley (RIP), Santa Claus, and... I don't know... a bearded guy younger, and a bit slimmer than the both of them. (I still got a gut, though.)
So when someone who looks like a model likes me, I go "dafuq???" I'll also say that none of my partners looked like models, yet they were absolutely ravishing to me.

One scammer even decided to Google search it and plopped something they found on the internet as their answer. It sounded so stilted to me that I took a snapshot, asked Google Lens to extract the text, search for it, and bingo!
If you're a 20-something, and you start waxing poetic about your submissiveness, I'm going to look twice at your answer.
Impossible? No.
