This old post-mediaeval lime-mortar rubble/stone-built cottage with a corrugated tin roof is believed to have been an inn in General Wade's time.

Pile of Rubble: Polmaise Castle, Cambusbarron, Stirling
Built in 1865, Polmaise Castle only lasted a century before being blown up by the army due to its state of disrepair.
The sole remains of the property are a large pile of rubble maybe 50m long in a clearing - occasional glimpses of angular stone blocks and roof beams sticking out at rakish angles.
