I don't want to advertise, but I think this baby will be my next desktop PC. With 64 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD. And of course, the preinstalled Windows 11 Pro flies right off the box for Fedora Linux.
Now I am glad that I hesitated so long with the predecessor UM690 and did not buy it.

Okay, major rant right now. Anyone else despise it when #Zoom hosts force you to turn on your #camera? For the past 3 years I’ve never had any issue joining meetings with my camera turned off all until this last week when not one, but two #meetings held by deferent hosts said I couldn’t join if my camera is off. I find this extremely discriminatory cause
1. #Neurodivergent people often don’t feel #comfortable on camera
2. Many people don’t have cameras on their devices, especially on #desktop #PCs where it’s still not a standard feature built into #monitors.
3. The meeting also did not have #endtoend #encryption enabled which to me is too much of a #security risk.
The biggest #kicker is the group didn’t have any issue before with people having their cameras turned off during the meeting but now all the sudden they are not okay with it. Not cool. And just making it very clear, none of the #events I host will ever require a camera. So if you aren’t #comfortable with being on camera in meetings, your #safespace is right here.

My desktop PC is still working after more than 11 years (April 2012). I only added a faster SSD in the meantime, so it starts faster and as an extra benefit with 500GB offers more storage, although I still have two HDD's of 1TB each that are still working (1 from 2012, 1 from 2014). And I added 2 extra GB of RAM (6 GB instead of 4 GB).

@Natanox in almost all cases, you'll be better off just backing up stuff regularly with deja-dup / duplicity [included in @ubuntu LTS Desktop per default] or #rsync and use #btrfs since unlike #ext4 and #ZFS, it'll be less straining in terms of write operations [which are the limiting factor of SSDs] and you don't want to use "journal-less ext4" outside of embedded devices!...
#ZFS is great for NASes and Server but there is a reason why not even #Canonical defaults to using it on #Desktop.

The toolbars in Vivaldi on #Desktop are #Customizeable!
Choose what buttons you want to feature on your toolbar, and place them anywhere on your navigation, status and panel bars.
Even Command Chains from your Quick Command settings can be set up and turned into buttons.
If you use Vivaldi Mail and would prefer your mails to be automatically marked as read when you open them, then take a look in the Mail settings. 😉
The option is there now, and it's been there since our Vivaldi on #Desktop 5.7 release.

I really wish #Linux #desktop was the refuge I'd hoped it was from Microsoft and Apple drastically changing their entire OS appearance every couple years and moving things around on you and massacring your productivity and comfort with your own computer every time you do a software update, but I guess I know very obviously where my niche is as far as contributing to the community.
