Kinda like @landley said re: #Android #development the same should be possible for #Linux in general, allowing someone in Agbobloshie to cobble together something that works for them and at least allow someone to browse the web via #Lynx and http://frogfind.com ...
In honour of the new release this week I thought I should finally get back to experimenting with Godot!

I love it that most of my 15 apps currently live on the iOS app store are being purchased on a daily basis. None of them is a huge hit, but combined together it's not bad at all 😊 - this might be the best situation to find yourself in as an #indiedev after all: hedging your bets! #ios #development #swift #swiftui #business #apple

Events often resist efforts to package them up and stamp a Convenient Narrative on them, but it's really tempting to me to say the history of the internet in this era is that of many people rejecting the hegemony of large corporations and doing things for themselves.
Social media has seen the rejection of Twitter, for reasons I really don't want to hash out again her

Very happy that this manuscript has just been accepted at Theoretical Population Biology: “A mathematical framework for evo-devo dynamics”. The paper offers a mathematical synthesis between development and evolution, and a method to simultaneously model evolutionary and developmental dynamics.

Updating the aggro pass. A pass that knocks out players that are in the way. Took a while to get it right, since I've decided in the past to do a custom sweeping collider, that had some bugs. But it's fixed now :)

Turbo Pascal is 40!
I created my first game with Turbo Pascal, back in 1986, thanks to TO7/70 computers available in my collège when I was in 3e (high school's 9th grade in the US).
The game was a lot like Flappy Bird! 😁
Turbo Pascal turns 40 -- it was one of the most influential languages for me when I got started. Oh, how I loved it. At 12 years old, it made me feel powerful!

OpenMoHAA is still under #development. The single-player campaign is not yet functional due to AI not being fully stable. But the training map can be played from start to end. The current focus is on #multiplayer.
OpenMoHAA has already reached more than half of its goal: to create an open-source version of #MoH:AA that is fully compatible with the original game.

Terminei de ler o livro Tidy First? do Kent Beck hoje (https://amzn.to/3Rm7kqE).

Funny story. While watching #BlueEyeSamurai on #Netflix yesterday, there is a scene where the sword master talks about mastering your art. And the love and dedication you put into making even small improvements to your process.
This made me think of my art, #WebDev.
A small thing that feels meaningful.

This investment is likely to bear fruit later on, with a $136,000 boost in these children’s earning power over the 45 years they are likely to be in the workforce."

I'd love to be able to get context-sensitive language/library help in Visual Studio, e.g., highlight the `static class` phrase in my C# program and get help.
IIRC such context-sensitive help used to be in MS dev tools a while ago and so I'm surprised it doesn't exist anymore. Or perhaps it exists and I'm doing something wrong? I'm on VS 2022.
How to do a Django cache decorator that exclude by URL parameters #oldpost https://daniele.tech/en/2023/03/how-to-do-a-django-cache-decorator-that-exclude-by-url-parameters/ #Development
When working with #ChatGPT to write software for fun (sorry, yes, this is like gaming for me, can't help it), I notice that the cycle
1. describe requirements to a certain method.
2. ChatGPT generates method.
3. check method, slightly revise, put into code.
is too fast for my brain. When manually writing code I, well, craft every word. If I just supervise ChatGPT, I tend to lose the overview what I have specified in what way, what was generated. Which must not happen. #software #development
