I've gotten involved in a study about dancing this year. A few people started this study and brought me in as a motion capture expert. The goal is to mimic a disco club scene but in a studio with cameras.
Students would dance for 45 minutes under different conditions. We would leave the room during this time, although we set up cameras to capture their movement (with their consent of course).
We had our last session today. The students were grateful to be part of our study! They made little cards for each of the people running the study to show their appreciation.
I'm really excited to analyze the videos and see how their movements built this sense of community!

In 1979 Disco Demolition Night exploded a Chicago baseball field to make a statement about changing tastes in music. The Greek philosopher Heraclitus was called "The Obscure" during his life but history has made his meaning clear – "No man ever steps in the same river twice." Things change.
