So I've been playing Disney Speedstorm recently. It's like F2P Mario Kart with Disney characters, and it's shameless with the microtransactions.
But it's cool because, while there are multiplayer modes and you fall behind if you're not a whale-scale payer, there's a pretty extensive single player mode. I've been playing it for about a week now and haven't run into any major paywalls yet. And it plays surprisingly well compared to some of its competitors. Pretty fun free game

Pourquoi j’entends pas plus parler de #DisneySpeedstorm ? Ce #MarioKart like est juste une dinguerie tellement il est nerveux et jouissif dans le gameplay. Petite réserve sur le free to play, je ne sais pas encore s’il est pay to win ou pas.
Ansonsten spiele ich mit dem Kind gerade #DisneySpeedstorm - bei Mario Kart Tour ist irgendwie die Luft raus. Dem Kind fehlt Abwechslung und seit dem Android 14 Update ist es bei mir ziemlich instabil.
Das Kind liebt Jasmin und freut sich jetzt schon auf die nächste Saison mit der Eiskönigin. Den Goldpass konnten wir über die Ranglistenbelohnungen freischalten und Strecken sowie Veranstaltungen sind abwechslungsreich. Das motiviert mehr.

The karts handle fine, it basically feels like a Disney version of Mario Kart, with added lootboxes, and microtransactions.

In my defense, it’s not like I spent *real* real money for the unlock. I had a bunch of My Nintendo gold coins left over from recent digital purchases (mostly DLC songs for #HatsuneMikuProjectDIVA and #Theatrythm), so I basically traded one fake digital currency for another.
The monetization of #DisneySpeedstorm is aggressive and shameless, but I do enjoy the fact they have a Gaston-themed event called “no one races like Gaston”
I don’t see anyone talking about it — maybe the preseason pay-to-play buried the soft launch — but the Disney free-to-play kart racer is actually really fun, and runs like a dream on #NintendoSwich. #DisneySpeedstorm

Tried two more games today:
The #SaintsRow reboot isn’t as bad and cringy as people make it out to be, but once set free in the open world, it doesn’t feel very compelling either.
And #DisneySpeedstorm is a true Gameloft race game. Fake wins, lures you into monetization in dirty ways, but also with really good, action-packed tracks.

I gave this #Disney Kart game a try, finally, so, Disney #Speedstorm.
It's surprisingly fun and has very nice tracks.
Of course it's a Gameloft game, so, during the course of the Beginner section you're introduced to like four different in-game currencies and a way to spend all your real life savings.
But gameplay-wise it's fun so far, IF you can stand the heavy "rubberbanding" of these kart racers. 😅
Spent a few hours with #DisneySpeedstorm now that it’s #F2P and I’m in two minds with it.
It’s a fun kart racer with good physics, fun items, beautiful graphics and music and there’s no energy system so you can just play all you want. It’s a very fun racing game.
The grind to level up is a bit high though as it’s currencies on currencies on top of loot boxes that is absolutely P2W though it’s not necessary outside of the top 10% on ranked leaderboards. It distracts you with pop ups and icons.

I’ve only played a small amount of #DisneySpeedstorm from Gameloft on the free weekend but it’s a pretty solid albeit grindy kart racer.
If you played #Asphalt9 , it’s more of that but Disney. Good weight, looks great, fun laid back fun. There’s a lot of currencies though. #gaming

Enjoyed the cute little VN prequel to Ghostwire tonight, with its not entirely unexpected twist ending.
Also tried out Disney Speedstorm, which sure is pretty and has some fun racing, but also has such a completely bewildering array of currencies for upgrades and star levels and other stuff so that I may just give up on it.
