TBT - this time last year I was entirely occupied as a volunteer artist doing pet portraits for the local Humane Society fundraiser (they aren’t doing it this year). Here are four drawings I really liked doing.

A middle-aged man sits with his boots on the chair, sharing time with his yellow lab. The dog sleeps comfortably on the floor, happy to be with his master. Trixie With Her Ball is an original watercolor painting with a digital filter applied. This painting is a portrait of my little dog, Trixie. Rarely is the coffee made before I find her sitting at my feet with her tennis ball waiting to play. She spends her day exploring outside, begging for me to play with her and sleeping - what a life! With her dark shining eyes looking out from under bushy white eyebrows and sweet smile buried in her big beard, I find her hard to resist. I guess work will have to wait - again!

I have been a Schnauzer mom going on 35 years and I just can't get enough of them. They are smart, cute, compact, don't shed and very loving. Sure they bark a little now and then, but the noise is worth it!
