Just landed from home.social. Not the best at profiles or intros but here goes my #introduction :
Where am I: Trapped on an island, next to Europe, where stupid people won their vote to become insignificant, have rivers poisoned, get ripped off by the government and other bad stuff.
Trying to wrap my head around being creative but with a long, fluctuating burnout it’s feeling impossible but I’m not giving up just yet. Just let me find a box large enough and strong enough to hold that burnout, depression and other nasties at bay and we’ll start the party.
Most of the time I think I'm familiar enough with myself that, when I discover something new or find the correct (or at least, better) interpretation / explanation of something I didn't know or thought I understood, it can either make me confused, really happy or both at the same time.
Somehow it's been through reading, listening to others on topics about or related to my personal discoveries as well as talking with friends about those topics that have probably helped the most when it comes to figuring things out about myself.
I don't have the confidence to share much of anything yet but I'm hoping that I can learn how to share and how to find or grow my confidence whilst I'm here.

A rainbow sunrise doodle I made the other day! I have a rainbow of some small scraps that I have been mixing in with #sunrise- a nice, bright warm white. I also want to make a rainbow candle with candlelight -another day. Rainbows with these colors tend to be a little green/blue heavy, so the yellowy orange of the sunrise helps balance things out. I should make a red/ orange heavy rainbow doodle- so many to make so little time.

There’s a wonderful artist and teacher, Amy from Mindful Art Studio, who teaches classes on drawing easy, slow, repeating patterns similar to the stones I’ve been drawing. The activity is meditative and very relaxing. She has a free class an FB happening at 10am PDT today (that’s in about 25 min). You only need pen and paper. In 2015, The Craftsman in SoFA/#DTSJ closed. I used to hang out there with Andie and #doodle on their blank coasters.
Some #accidental #cameraobscura happening with these shelves Ali made from cardboard and joint compound plaster. I poked little holes in backs when they were cardboard so I could run wires through to light up some of my doodles. I didn't even realize what we had made till the room was dark.
The custom shelves are really neat, each cubby with a doodle glows a different color!

I'm not sure what the best solution is, but the use of Doodle and similar platforms for scheduling meetings drives me crazy. By the time everyone completes the poll (which often takes 2+ weeks), the times I indicated as available are inevitably full.
