Switching back and forth between #Chrome and #edge
I must say the one great thing about Chrome is that it is just a browser.
I know it tries to suck your surfing habits dry, but it is... a white window. With an address bar.
Edge has an edge in functionality, but it is more and more becoming Microsoft's version of Vivaldi or Opera. A browser with 46346346 functions, none of which I am interested in to the point I have to go and manually turn off the secret switches in it's config settings

• If #Edge’s sidebar appears, click the ⋮ button there
• Otherwise open Settings (⌘, on Mac or click ⋯ then Settings in the toolbar), then Sidebar on the left, “Discover” under the “App and notification settings” heading
• Turn off the switch next to “Show Discover”
The button will disappear from the toolbar and you never again have to worry about its sidebar popping out when you hover over it

I used Edge daily for work, and I do admit I like the performance of it a lot, even a lot of its features, but I just noticed the latest update adds a lot more rounded corners.
I first noticed the tabs were now "floating", like they are in FF, and thought that was nice...UNTIL I noticed the actual viewport window ALSO has not only rounded corners, but also a couple pixels of padding!

To other #blind people, what #browser do you use these days? I've had a lot of trouble picking. I've tried #Brave, #Chrome, #Firefox, and #Edge. Edge almost seems bloated and is too verbose. I'm not sure I need the crypto stuff in Brave, and it's blocked things so they didn't work occasionally. Chrome is cool but never seems to change much, and I like trying new stuff. Yet another reason to not use #MicrosoftEdge: when you click links inside of the OS interface, it automatically opens them in #Edge, regardless of your default #WebBrowser. That's a bit annoying, seeing as I use #Chrome for my massive workflows in #GoogleDocs / #Notion and #Firefox for daily browsing, meaning Chrome is a massive task to open because that's a ton of windows and tabs, but Firefox is quick and thus the default.
If I used Edge for my workflows (which I could, because it uses the Chrome optimizations I'm using it for), then it would try to open it every time I clicked the wrong thing in the OS backend.
Really hate to do this, but #Edge once again made my new tab page open in "content visible" mode with all the junk news displayed. I will be moving off it as my default browser. Really wish #Safari still worked on Windows, because now I have to resort to #Chrome since it works everywhere I do.
And to the Edge team: please, for customers' sake, do not mess with someone's settings. You lost all my open tabs on iOS once and now this. I will miss vertical tabs :-(

1) The auto-complete of forms on #Firefox is still barely useable. And I happen to do surprising amount of those every day.
2) The reader mode + read out loud features of #Edge are a game changer for me in the way I consume articles.

@jon I have been following the raft of #WebBrowsers launched in the last year or so and find it fascinating. Having tried and reviewed many of them, including #Vivaldi and #Brave, I have yet to find a compelling reason to adopt any one of them as my primary browser for many reasons, not the least of which is the use of #Chromium as the base. None of these browsers, including #Edge and #Chrome, is ready for prime time, and for the new entrants I would have concerns on business model.
