These particular songs will be fun to record and perform. Since I am loading samples to use as loops and I’m triggering them by selecting the pads instead of creating patterns I need to make sure the timing is really precise or else things can get out of time. Playing today it seemed to do it in a cool way, but it could definitely get too far out of sync. I will likely experiment with patterns to how I can create arrangements of the various drum parts.

Had a really productive and fun session of music creation today. I got all of the samples I wanted to use for my next track created. I loaded them onto my SP404 and did a jam of the track. It came out pretty good and I’m glad to see my idea can actually work.
Now, I need to repeat the process and get the samples ready for the second track. Once I have that complete I can start rehearsing the ideas for how I will perform them for the record.

Previously only available through the Werra Foxma Sub Club, my album ‘Digressions' can now be obtained though my Bandcamp store.

A collection of eight eclectic tunes - each different in their own way, but all very 'gribbles’…

This morning on the walk to work I enjoyed 'Unfold Yourself' by Gagi Petrovic.
I have few points of reference for stuff like this currently so I won't do a disservice by trying to compare it to others.
Really cool soundscapes with an often unsettling undercurrent. I loved the way little hints of melody would appear in the first track but then dissipate just as quickly. Will be seeking out more for sure.

Decisive Pink - “Ode To Boy” (2023)

New electronic pop from NYC duo Angel Deradoorian (from art-pop group ‘Dirty Projectors’) and Kate NV.

They released ‘Haffmilch Holiday’ as a single late last year and got a great response from music writers. This is their debut LP.

It’s a playful and varied album. A somewhat abstract mash-up of influences ranging from ’80s J-pop, early ’90s rave, and, I don’t know what. I just know I like the way it sounds and flows. Seems designed for my favorite use of music; escapism.

Here the full video of my performance at TEMOM Monday night! It was a blast playing live. I had a prepared patch and sequenced lines, and the fun thing that happened was when I triggered the drum machine it was set to a different pattern than I expected! 😬So it really went in a different (and good, I think) direction. Than anticipated.
