Also full text search is implemented and results are displayed beautifully (something that always felt half-baked in #elk )
I just noticed @elk doesn't show search results that were enabled in Mastodon 4.2. In fact activity on the Elk repo has slowed down quite a bit. It's still good, but...

Question about #mastodon #tusky #elk
On tusky I have drafts. On mastodon web I don't have drafts (nor in elk). I figured drafts are not a part of mastodon, so those drafts on tusky are stored locally in the app, not online on my account.
1) do I get this correct?
2) is there any plan to add drafts to mastodon? Cause I would like to see my drafts across platforms.

@jon I'm using @elk on desktop and @megalodon on android. Both because they're beautiful.
Caveat: There hasn't been a lot of development on #elk lately so I really hope the new search method will be implemented soon.
@jupiter_rowland While I agree with you, I think you're kind of exaggerating the likelihood of this. Most developers and many people running instances, in particular, wouldn't be so inclined.
I think it might become a "kind social practice" to have a CW for long posts, but in truth, most people won't bother. The old school of tightly constrained politeness is fading, I think.
Also, there are many of us on Mastodon who view posts through things like #Elk, which display text formatting.
How do I test out search w #ELK ?

Okay, been trying the #elk @elk mastodon client and so far the list of annoyances is:
- going back after looking through a person's posts will make me end up at the top of the profile again, having me scrolling all the way back to where I was again
- the back button doesn't behave how it did on Twitter, but just does the same as the browser back button (if that's what I wanted I'd press the browser's back button)

#Mastodon UIs I've encountered have been a bit spotty. One thing that is kind of surprising is that most of them do not honor the fundamental account-level setting to expand sensitive posts by default. Honestly this seems like a big problem for a large number of UIs, including the native Mastodon #iOS app.
#TrunksApp and #IceCubesApp for iOS as well as #Elk & #Phanpy on the web (and the default web UI) do not have this problem. ✅

When I'm on #mastodon on desktop (most of the time I use it that way) I browse it through the 3rd party web app #elk and I really like the clean, modern UI that makes it really more pleasant for me to navigate in the #fediverse
It's not a definitive version, there's still some work to do as there are a few bugs from time to time but it's a solid and useful job for the small team working on it, thank you to them!
@steventdennis Good to have you back! You were missed. As someone mentioned below, searching and following by hashtag is certainly working.
Also, I'd encourage you to use third-party clients for Mastodon instead of the native app/site. I use and love #Elk on desktop and #Tusky on android, and I know that there are apps for iPhone as well.
