Among the martyrs there were three bishops, 127 diocesan priests, 56 religious, and five laity; 86 of the priests and four of the laity belonged to the Diocese of Paris.
The martyrs were rounded up and detained in different makeshift prisons in Paris. There was the notorious Prison de la Force and the Abbey of Saint-Germain-des-Prés; but, the primary and most important was the convent of the Discalced Carmelite Friars, where Brother Lawrence of the Resurrection once lived and taught the Practice of the Presence of God.
At 4:00 in the afternoon of 2 September 1792, an armed mob descended on the monastery, which had served as a prison since 10 August. The massacre began by firing squad, but the impatient, bloodthirsty crowd lost control and began attacking the prisoners with spears (piques) and sabers.
Some prisoners sought refuge in the monastery chapel but were apprehended and led back to the monastery garden to certain execution. A revolutionary commissioner arrived, restored order, and within two hours another 115 executions were carried out at the bottom of the stairway that led to the back door of the sacristy.
One Jesuit escaped, Father Saurin, and an injured diocesan priest, Father De La Pannonie. Father Saurin said that the difference between the spiritual calm and serenity of the Carmelite prison and the noise and furor of Revolutionary Paris was like night and day.
Father De La Pannonie wrote, “I never heard one complaint from those whom I saw massacred” on 2 September in the Carmelite cloister garden.
Of the 3000 victims of September 1792, these 191 martyrs were beatified by Pope Pius XI on 17 October 1926.

The justice system in Iran has some unique and infuriating track record that is still going on, despite the media lack of interest in the victims of this so called justice system.
Mostafa Karim Beighi. Was one of the victims of 2019 uprising in Iran who was killed by the IRI security police.
His parents never gave up fighting to clear the name of their child and demand justice for the person or those responsible for his murder. And in a post on Instagram, he wrote:

The post is in support of Mashallah Karami father of Mohammad Mehdi Karami, one of those executed by the regime after last year's protest.

In some cases, you might want a long-term signing key that you plan to use longer than a typical authentication key (I typically rotate authentication keys every time I get a new laptop). In such a case, it would make sense to have them be separate. Another case where it might make sense to have them separate is if your signing key is on a #YubiKey or similar security key, and your authentication key is not.
Note also that you'll want to take extra care to protect any key you use for signing since authentication signatures expire quickly (with your SSH connection), whereas #Git commits may need to be verified years later.

Today in Labor History July 12, 1919: Erich Mühsam was sentenced to 15 years in prison for his role in the Bavarian Workers' Councils uprising. He was an antimilitarist, anarchist, essayist, poet and playwright and one of the leading agitators for a federated Bavarian Soviet Republic. He also did cabaret performances during the Weimar Republic that satirized Hitler, who was, coincidentally, released from jail under the same amnesty that freed Mühsam in 1924. Mühsam was tortured and murdered in the Oranienburg concentration camp in 1934.

Today in Labor History June 7, 1896: Anarchists supposedly set off a bomb during a Corpus Christi parade in Barcelona, Spain. As a result, a dozen people died and thirty were wounded. No one knows who actually set off the bomb, but the government blamed anarchists, who had set off numerous bombs over the previous four years. Consequently, the government went on a witch-hunt, arresting and torturing dozens of anarchists in the infamous Montjuich Prison. However, many leading anarchists denied the accusations and said they would never have set off a deadly bomb in a working-class community like this. They reserved their attacks for members of the ruling class. Nevertheless, the government tried and executed five anarchists, all of whom proclaimed their innocence. They sentenced 67 others to life in prison. Worldwide protests erupted in response.

Today in Labor History May 30, 1741: The authorities burned thirteen black men at the stake for their role in a purported plot to start a slave revolt in the colony of New York. They also hanged seventeen black men, two white men, and two white women. However, historians disagree whether the plot ever existed. The prosecution continually changed its story during the trial, even leveling accusations of Spanish and Catholic involvement. In the weeks leading up to the trial, there had been a series of fires in Manhattan, which had the second highest slave population in the colonies at the time. They arrested several slaves, including a 16-year-old Irish girl. She testified that poor white and black people were conspiring to kill rich white men, steal their wives and elect a new king. In the end, the authorities arrested over 200 people and hanged or burned 100 of them, in a witch hunt that drew parallels to those of Salem fifty year before.

The Federation of Workers' Unions of the Beijing–Hankou Railway held a ceremony on February 1, 1923 to launch their new federation. Warlord Wu Peifu sent his military police to sabotage the meeting. The Federation launched a strike on February 7 in protest. Again, Wu Peifu sent his troops to attack the Workers' Union. They arrested the union’s chief, Lin Xiangqian, and executed him. They also violently suppressed workers' movements in Changxindian, Zhengzhou, Baoding, and Gaobeidian.
