Baltimore, MD trio that makes cool pop songs. Been listening to this a lot lately.
They were apparently inspired by classic post punk bands and were struck with the partnership of drums and bass as propulsive instruments.
This particular track creates a real mood, and the repetitive vocals has a kind of 80s sound to it (makes me think of Tones On Tail’s “Go”).

German electro-pop pioneers Kraftwerk release their seventh album, “The Man-Machine”
It’s a more modern, digestible sound that incorporates more dance beats than their previous albums. I don’t know who was into this when it came out except some hard core audiophiles or people into experimental electronic music. The album’s popularity took a while to build, as it didn’t chart in the UK til four years later.
But it’s a classic now, and a highly influential album that’s left its mark on synth music of all sorts ever since.
I prefer the more accessible tracks, like the opener, “The Robots”, which in German is the much cooler “Die Roboter”.
Test of my experimental configuration for my disk duplicator control program -- I'm using Vokoscreen with my webcam setup not on my face, but capturing the disk duplicator.
And the application on the right is VSCodium, which I'll be using as my development and testing environment.
This way, I will be able to set up a test program to run in the terminal panel and have video of the device's response, captured together. This should be a perfect setup for reverse-engineering what the codes do.
I just set this up to do a proof-of-principle, but it looks like it will work.
The next piece I have to round up is my Python USB module -- I have one I downloaded from Adafruit a few years ago that should be perfect for this. I just have to dig around in my files to locate it.

In February, I went to the remains of the long wave transmission station
and imagined the sound of the space that was in operation in the past,
feeling a heavy and long presence.

Findings:
- There's quite a lot of posts on #Mastodon with wrongly-tagged `language` unfortunately 😔
- DeepL is probably better than LibreTranslate, etc, but it doesn't have Thai 😔
- Most translation services don't seem to have the extra "pronunciation" step 😔
This is an experiment for the upcoming album in May.
