According to Bulgakov's later writings, Gethsemane is the mystical core of Christ's passion.
If so, it is there that we can expect to learn what it means to daily carry the cross, and Bulgakov brings out these implications of his doctrine with fullest pastoral force in the Diary.

Inexplicable #suffering sets the condition for the ultimate act of ascesis and sophianic self-creation: submitting our will to God’s without falling into despair.

Faith & Religion, My personal feelings as a trans person:
I was raised Catholic in New England. In my early teen years i drifted away from this but thankfully my family didn't have much of an issue with it. I was a punk and i think they saw i was just on a different path.
Now 48 years old i've met people of just about every faith there is in my life and gotten along with most fine. I try to treat everyone with respect regardless of their faith, religion or lack thereof. It's none of my business as far as i'm concerned and as long as people treat me with respect i don't see why i shouldn't do the same. It just seems like the right thing to do.
There's obviously a lot of hate directed towards people like me and all other LGBT folks from religious organizations, as well as some believers who want to silence or remove us from existence.
This obviously bothers me but i refuse to judge everyone of faith, no matter what it may be because others are using that same faith to dismiss my rights.
I have friends who are very vocal critics of religion and all faith but tbh at points in my life i've sought to find meaning and looked into different types of faiths to explore if that's where i found a connection.
I didn't but i value that experience of having done so, the freedom to do so. While i can't say i understand religion, i do understand why people may find some sort of peace in it and for those who do, and retain their ability to treat others as equals regardless of their gender identity or orientation, i respect them and am happy for them.
Just because i'm trans, punk rock and do my own thing doesn't mean i'm unable to be cool with others doing theirs. As long as people aren't trying to force it on others or take away rights of others based on their world view, i have no issue at all with faith or religion.
It's just simply not my deal is all.
I believe in mutual respect and the separation of Church and State.

It is a #memoir that has more to do with the intersection of #science and #faith than it does anything else. It explains the experiences of those on the schizophrenic spectrum according to Jungian theory. It also tells of how I ended up homeless because the daughter of an FBI informant slandered me.
She always said her mom was FBI; I never believed her. I learned the hard way by ratting on a hitman friend of hers.
I'm waiting for that matter to resolve somehow.

@YaleDivinitySchool Trust is earnt. A reliable method is to trust that which can be verified with evidence. Faith is trust in something that cannot be verified. It is a poor way of establishing the truth of a proposition as it can used to support belief in anything.
Christians are told to believe based on #faith, because the evidence is unconvincing.
I was just refering back to my #Easter #sermon: "We have to believe that everyone is a child of #God. We have to believe that #Jesus died for everyone, without exception. We have to believe that the #gospel is for everyone, including people whose background or #lifestyle is very different from us. For the gospel message is a message of #love- the love of God which includes everyone without exception".

There's a wide range of opinions about many different matters with #faith communities, but that's also the case among those who profess no #religious faith.
Personally, this particular #Christian is all in favour of everyone, whatever their #SexualOrientation, being able to share the joys of #marriage, if they wish; of all #children, regardless of what their parents' marital status, being able to flourish equally; and for life to be a heck of a lot easier for #trans folks.
