According to a new report from the AP #California will raise the minimum wage for fast food workers to $20 per hour. The change will go into effect on April 1, 2024. Prior to the increase, California already boasted one of the highest minimum wages in the U.S. at $15.50 per hour. Governor #Newsom signed the law into effect this week, calling the change a "tectonic plate that had to be moved."

Another WTF: In and Out Burgers is banning Covid face masks for employees in 5 western states.
Why? Because it's more important for customers to see their smiling faces than to allow them to protect themselves, each other, and customers from infection. Of course, it remains to be seen how often they will smile under these conditions.
CA & OR employees are exempt, thanks to workplace safety laws. However, those who choose to mask up, will be forced to wear company issued N-95s. (Perhaps with smiling cartoon faces printed on them, below the company's yellow arrow logo).
