Figma's dev mode is really good when turning designs into code. You can track component variants easily and see differences. However, I struggle with changes in design over time. WRKS was built in three iterations, resulting in a mix of these three. And then, I end up with a list of "what's different from design" from testers.
It feels like Figma only takes into account waterfall development without changes.
Do you have any tips for plugins to highlight changes in screens?
Just spent far too long trying to work out why a #Figma link shared by a colleague gets stuck in an infinite loader. Far too much poking around in DevTools, and it’s _probably_ because I wasn’t logged in.
I dunno: feels like this isn’t an unexpected failure mode, and should be handled in the UI: expecting users to dive into DevTools to solve issues is a bit much, y’know?
Makes me wonder if anyone at Figma is actually eating their dogfood… #badUX

I love that when I switch a figma property in a not-that-complex shape, it crashes figma entirely. Yes that is great, totally worth money.

Всем привет, с вами Ростислав — продуктовый дизайнер в Домклике. Сегодня хочу поднять довольно важную тему про ИИ и генеративный дизайн. И про то, как они повлияют на индустрию дизайна цифровых продуктов в ближайшем будущем. Генеративный дизайн (англ. Generative Design, далее GD), или порождающий дизайн, — подход к проектированию и дизайну цифрового или физического продукта, при котором человек делегирует часть процессов компьютерным технологиям и платформам. GD — довольно широкое понятие, оно применимо для многих сфер, но сегодня я рассмотрю этот подход в разрезе пользовательских интерфейсов. Люди-дизайнеры на протяжении многих лет были главными генераторами идей для интерфейсов. Но с развитием технологий мы всё ближе к тому, чтобы делегировать эту часть работы нейросетям.

Early this year I used AI (and some manual photoshop work) to create a nice looking isometric bedroom scene to illustrate the premium mode screen of my app Wake Up Light https://wakeuplight.app.
My art skills suck and this image was a big step in the direction I wanted my Premium screen to look (not perfect though). I created a simple scroll animation in SwiftUI to get my users to scroll down and see all premium features and I like it so far. 🤩

I see Adobe has begun the #enshitification of #figma. Now the "free" plan has a limited number of files. I literally only use Figma for creating quick SVG's to export to Tinkercad.
I mean lets face it... who didn't see Adobe fucking up Figma when they acquired it?

T-minus three days until Thanksgiving so the week is going to be dense — the first part with work and the latter with eating.
Seems like whenever things get a little crazy I find moments to tap out and do something unrelated to the tasks at hand.
Spent a chunk of this evening watching YouTube videos to learn new methods of prototyping in Figma — mostly to refresh navigation for the site here, but it will be valuable info I can apply to a lot of other projects.
I was so wrapped up in this madness, the only photo of the day was a BeReal (and has awful color temperature issues). The screen grab above is supplementary and also horizontal, which fits better into the current scheme.

Weird #Figma bug with enlarged drop shadow that is fixed just by clicking inside the component layers.

個人的には、デザインのルールは GUI じゃなくてコードで書きたくなってしまう（つまりは CSS を描きたくなってしまう）んだけど、時短という点では先に #Figma なりの #UI デザインツールでイメージを作る以上、状況によっては選択肢に入ってくるかもしれないな〜、それこそペライチのページとか。

#XD は #Figma に先行してアニメーションモックアップ作れるようになった時がピークだったと思う。
あの時だけは、ずっと先行されていた #Figma に一矢報いたというか、#Figma 界隈もざわついた気がする。
でもそれもあくまで単機能の比較での話で、全体からみれば #XD が UI デザインツールとして総合的に #Figma を超えていたことはほぼなかったと思っている（個人的感想）
結局、最後までカラーマネジメントに対応してなくて #MacBook とかで使うと書き出したリソースが色褪せるとか、文字詰めがちゃんと出来ないとか、おなじ #Adobe の大先輩ツールである #Illustrator とか #Photoshop の機能を食ってしまわないように配慮した結果「UI プロトタイプ までは #XD で、細部の作り込みは、我らが #Adobe の #Illustrator と #Photoshop でやろうね！」という、とても微妙なツールになってしまった。
そうやって #UI デザイナーにも #Illustrator とかを使わせ続けようとしたのが間違いで、すくなくとも UI 周りとかオンスクリーンのデザインは #illustrator なしで #XD ですべて完結できる！くらいの気概が #XD にあればもうちょっと違ったんじゃないかなとずっと思っているけど、#Adobe ビジネス判断ではそれができなかったんだろうな…
メールで流れてきた #Figma 講座の情報みてたら #XD をやたら推していた人がいつのまにか「 #XD が終了してこまってるあなたに Figma 教えますよ！」みたいに #Figma の講師になってるの、まあそりゃ #XD の終了が発表されている今となってはそうなるよねーとは思うけど、なんか微妙な気持ちにもなってしまう :tony_neutral:
自分はずっと #XD は微妙だと感じてて #Figma を推し続けてたし、なんなら自分の周りの人もずっと微妙な顔して #XD 使ってた（というより使わされていた）印象で、何でそんな状況になっていたかと考えれば #Adobe の #CreativeCloud 抱き合わせ戦略とかそこに便乗してきた #XD アンバサダーみたいな人たちがそういう状況を後押ししてたわけで、そういう「#XD がいいですよ！ #XD 使いましょう！ #XD 教えます！」って言ってた人たちが「#XD はもうだめです！ #Figma を教えてあげます！」って急に変わられても、そんなスピードでは受け入れられない自分がいる…
まあ自分もいまのところまだ流行りそうにない #Affinity とかを推しているし、先見の明がなかったことを謝る必要とかはない（きっかけがなんであれ、使っている人の判断）と思うけど、
こと「#Figma と #XD」の比較の話は、どう考えても #Figma のほうが出来が良かったのに「#Adobe だから」とか「#CreativeCloud の定額で使えるから（それって安かろう悪かろうという話で質の話が置き去り…）」という開発元の政治力とかでモノをみているというか本質的なツールの質とか可能性を見てない感じがあって（#Figma がいかに優れてても「でもやっぱり #Adobe だと安心（だろう）」みたいに言う人も多かった」）そういうことをなにも精算しないで「#XD の先生だったわたしも今日からは #Figma の先生です」って言われると、正直な感想「なんか節操ないな…」と思ってしまう。
まあでも講師業とかイベントやる大変さももちろんあるし、そういう経験を生かして、#XD をターゲットにやってたことを #Figma でまたやる（しかもいまや同じ #Adobe プロダクトだし）というだけのことなんだろうけど。
別に古参ユーザーを自称したい訳じゃないんだけど、、、
#Figma が今の地位失うことは少なくともしばらくはないと思うし #Figma は自分も大好きだし続いていって欲しいとおもってるけど、そういう「ただ勝馬を追いかける」みたいなツール選びしてる人は、また「お勧めしてたこのツール、やっぱりダメでした！今日からはこの新ツールを使いましょうね！教えます！」みたいなこと言うことになっちゃうんじゃないのかい…？とおもってしまうおじさん :tony_neutral: < おじさん

Recreated my automatic* shading of scrolling lists, next stop is horizontal+vertical with sticky columns.

Had some time to finish up the best compromise (css only) so far. Digging the added outlines, not so much the selected rows’ background not extending to the edge.
Also would like to stick the layer actions to the right but the current tree structure makes this hard without going the js route.
