You can often find the claim that Dunwich had 50 churches at its peak, but is actually more like 10. One of the few remaining ruins of the lost city is Greyfriars Monastery, much of which was made of flint found on Dunwich beach. Established in the 13th century, this Franciscan friary went the way of all the other monasteries in 1539.

Before the pandemic, it was very common for companies to hire kids to hand out packets of tissues with ads printed on them at train stations. I'm not really looking forward to when that comes back, despite all of the reasons for it being stopped still being valid.

We walked the roughly 10 miles up to Dunwich, a town that was once a significant medieval port city, suffered great storms in the 13th and 14th centuries, and now is only a small village as the cliffs continue to crumble into the sea.
It was a favourite haunt of Melancholic Victorians™, including Henry James, who would have been able to see one of it's last churches, All Saints, which fell into the sea in 1919 (you can look up pictures of it!)

Yesterday evening, I developed two rolls of KosmoFoto Agent Shadow, 400ASA film, 17:30 min in Rodinal 1+50, minus some time for 22°C. Perfectly uneventful, both rolls turned out just fine.
The only problem was, I discovered it now while scanning the film, is... those weren't two rolls of the same film, the other was AgfaPhoto APX 400! 😬
Despite that the development times aren't the same, both rolls ended up equally well developed! 🥳

From a recent drive along the North Santiam Highway in Oregon. This is forest that was burned by the Beachie Creek Fire in 2020. It’s really shocking how devastated this valley still is, dead grey trees on all sides. But remarkably there are also trees that burned close to the ground that are still alive and kicking.

This film makes a really strong effect, almost as if you're looking at a negative (although it leaves the greens complimentary). I was a little apprehensive about trying it, but in the end, I had a lot of fun with this emulsion.

Five frames with my newly (and cheaply) acquired Nikonos IV film camera, a vintage action cam that works on land as well as in water. It's so nice and ergonomic that I love it more than any GoPro or action cam I've ever used. It's also a capable regular film camera on land!
