All of the small cats now hate me.

I did their flea treatments. Not sure why they are all so anti that quick squirt, but boy oh boy, those little ones are fast & violent about it.

I might be done with it now, though they were a week late.

Not a new study (2012), but a good one. There are excellent fossils documenting flea evolution that are intermediate in form between tiny modern fleas and their large, generalized Mecopteroid ancestors.

Looking into options for flea and tick protection for my 2 dogs. Here are my findings.

PS: Check out Canadian vet supply places as they are a lot cheaper than the local vet and even Petco.

List of recommended flea and tick products:

Nexgard Spectra is a better option than plain Nexgard as has flea/tick and heartworm meds in one chewable (vs. regular Nexgard.)

Siparica Trio covers fleas, ticks (one more specie than NexGard) heart worms and round/hookworks in one chewable. It reportedly works faster than Nextgard and is given every 5 weeks (vs. 4 weeks for Nexgard.)

Brarvecto is also a good option as it only has to be given every 3 months (but doesn’t cover heart worms.)

Not sure what happened and I probably should not ask...but one of the cats got evicted by the hubby before I even went to bed. I may wait a bit too, it sounded like it had really ticked him off, and it's one of his "babies"....

He's already in a bad mood, as I had sprayed the dog with flea stuff and she wanted in with him before she was entirely dry...

He hates the smell.

Our mild temps have caused a flea bloom in our household. Unfortunately, our doxie mix, Hope, is highly allergic to their bites and it's been making her nuts, despite our attempts to get rid of them on her, the cats, other dogs, yard, etc.

So, I just sprayed her down with an all natural repellent spray. It doesn't KILL them, but it does make them vacate her, giving her some peace. It also lets me know if she was the host for many (nope, only about 5-6) They REALLY don't like it.

Albee & Nyusha

The vet saw evidence of fleas on Nyusha, so gave her some stuff on her neck. All good. But he didn't have any more for Albee.

I went to a different vet who sold me different stuff. It's awful. Absolutely stinks. Albee has been washing himself almost constantly since last night to get rid of it.

Never buy "Advantage" if you don't want your cat to hate you and everything they touch for the next 48 hours!

Almost all of the cats are treated for fleas now. Just my mom's two are left, but they can't be treated for another week. I am happy, and hopefully, we'll see a reduction in flea activities. I know our two in/out girls carried them in, but they went from nothing to severe with the cold snap we had just before the holidays. It's been treatments & flea sprays since then. For some reason, they delight in attacking our doxie mix, who is still going crazy, poor thing.

I'm halfway through the cats flea treatments. So far, no bleeding has occurred, so that's going well. Now just to get the other half done!

Started the flea treatment on dogs & cats--big project when you have too many cats. I'm not even halfway through the project since it requires me to be agile enough to capture & apply the monthly treatment plus be able to FIND said cat.

How do they know that today is the day & to hide as much as possible?

Dozens of reports from clients that Bravecto is no longer working, especially in cats. Seeing same on exam.

Such a bummer because cat Bravecto has only been out for 6 years, dog Bravecto 8.

If we start losing the isoxazolines, yikes. Fipronil and imidacloprid are already useless here.
