I had a paper route as a kid, my first job really. I delivered the San Diego Union in Spring Valley, California (circa 1964). My mother found me a bicycle at a used bike shop, and she sold the idea of the bike to me by telling me it was a heavy-duty bike. Heavy duty it was, it was a big heavy one speed bike. The bike was painted black and had one of those heavy-duty racks on the back. Perfect really for carrying newspapers.
I would get a stack of newspapers early in the morning and would fold them and put a rubber band around each folded newspaper. Then stick them in my canvas carrying bags. Then away I would go fling newspapers as I passed by the homes of subscribers. All before school.

Re-watching some episodes of #Friends season 1.
And I always thought that the first season is very different from the other ones: the colours turn its 90s-ness to the max, and the scripts often involve general relationship problems that are not really based on Friends' characters and can happen to anyone.
I recently picked up a subminiature 16mm film camera. A 1970s or 1980s Kiev-30, manufactured at the Arsenal plant in #Ukraine️. Sadly, it had several light leaks in the test roll photos.
I dismantled and repaired this tiny camera, and wrote a blog article about my experiences taking apart this tiny Soviet era camera.

In my group of friends and chosen family, we have this thing where if someone needs to hear that they did good, they just tell what they did and ask for praise.

Remember a few days ago, I wrote about ordering a new Canon 90D camera from Ebay and an amazing price. I also mentioned that it seemed almost too good to be true and was thinking that there might be a catch. Well, there is a slight catch, but not a big deal ... yet. The camera was mailed from China and is in transit, evidently by ship. So ... my new camera is coming by a slow boat from China. :) It's really no big problem, besides I took the deal with my eyes wide open.

@toze @yesjohn 😂. It’s funny how #Friends characters aged. Maybe it’s hindsight but I relate to them completely differently than I did as a teenager. I’ve met Ross’s over the years and now I’m like 😬 But Rachel’s are the most interesting people I know.
I’ve even seen Janice apologists who are like she really didn’t do anything wrong and these people just didn’t like her 😅
My parents previous Dachshund and Arwen were good friends. She was really sad when he wasn't around anymore.
She enjoys time with their new Dachshund, but he's so different in energy, that I feel she sometimes misses the old one.

I wanted to share some thoughts with you all. On the Fediverse, we engage in discussions, offer critiques, and sometimes, misunderstand each other. But have you ever stopped to think about the bigger picture?
None of us knows what tomorrow will bring. It's a universal uncertainty we all share.
When we pass away, everything we've done in life becomes insignificant. Perhaps I've said hurtful things about some of you, but in the grand scheme of things, it won't matter when I'm no longer part of this existence.
Life is incredibly short, and maybe we should cherish what we have left.
If I've ever hurt any of you in any way, I ask for your forgiveness before you lay down to sleep tonight.
You might not be there tomorrow to seek forgiveness from.
I pledge to do the same.
The way I interact with all of you often mirrors the circumstances I find myself in. Sometimes, life throws us curveballs, and we might act out of character.

My wife shook me awake a little before dawn this morning. The dogs were at the door. She woke me out of a weird dream; I was still in the army and lost within a barracks building. Sometimes in my dreams I have memories to go along with my dreams of things that never happened. The building seemed to grow and be much larger and more intricate than my memory. It was essentially a maze ... quite surreal. Of course, there was a cast of main characters who are people I know, but they are more recent acquaintances than of my army days.

My buddy parked his camper in my yard, and his wife is like me... awake at 3am. I said, Text me, and come in for coffee, I'm up.. we'd like to say goodbye before they hit the road ,maybe even make them breakfast.
It was much more pleasant than I imagined. After 50 years, you almost need re-introduction. I'd never met his wife before, she's lovely also. The names and details we remembered, amazed us both.
