Halp... I just don't understand what's going on here 🙏 Nearing my hand to the audio interface makes the hum worse, until I touch the input & it COMPLETELY vanishes. So, grounding, right? No, because the same hand, wired to the device chassis, only partially helps (I'm not particularly grounded anyway) & an actual ground wire, connected to a grounded pipe, does almost nothing.

Unplugging the laptop charger also eliminates the hum but, uh, no power 😵😬

That's done! Now here's what I'm doing next! Testing some of the old #gear that's lying around to see what I wanna do with it. This is an Alesis MicroVerb III delay/reverb which I bought in the mid-1990s. The original adapter is fried due to me messing with it about a year ago but the adapter for the Alesis SR16 has the same information on it, and I gave that a shot. It works!

If anybody in NL wants it (without an adapter), HMU.

Conditions: Used it two nights last weekend. Weather was above freezing but cold enough that I was cold and wearing all my clothes when not actually hiking.

Stats: Regular Wide. 4.5 R-Value. 1 lb or 0.45 kg.

Impressions. The first time I laid down I could feel heat radiating into my body. Pretty quiet, seems that issue is fixed. Held air just fine. Very happy so far. No issues. 10/10 would buy again.

#Guitar heads! Got another #gear question. I recently got an Epiphone Les Paul 100, and really like it. I've used it in a gig already, and it plays well, and sounds... fine. It sounds fine. But it doesn't yet sound GREAT.

So, to that end, I'm wondering about getting new pickups. The current pickups I have are the factory installed ones - Epiphone 700 dual coil. I've read a bit on pickups and am thinking of getting this JH-B Seymour Duncan dual coil unpotted which, besides getting good reviews, is pretty affordable!

My question - I don't know anything about pickups, so - is it worth it to switch out the factory installed for the Seymour Duncan? Will I get a noticeably different tone? Are the factory installed equivalent, or are they embarassingly bad?
