It is early evening and we are walking through the forest towards a dazzling sun shining through the trees ahead. The sun is rather low in the sky, creating long shadows and swaths of golden evening sunlight. The forest floor is a lush carpet of green ferns, with a few rocky patches, particularly around a low hill to our right. A small dead tree in the left foreground has been broken a few feet above its base, the top part laying on the ground pointing towards the sun.

#Photography can be strange sometimes. I had a transcendental experience sitting in the long grass in #GoldenHour a few weeks ago and came back with some technically good images.

What's strange is that I don't like this one. It just doesn't feel very 'me'. Maybe because the niceness of it doesn't match the profound experience I had.

Anyway my camera is broken so I'm going back over previous photos and I thought someone might like this one.

A photo taken in late afternoon light on my iPhone in Wilshire Park, Portland Oregon. Closer to the viewer, there are at least seven mature, tall trees - one conifer to the right but most are deciduous - silhouetted against an impossibly vivid green low-grass field that’s further from the viewer, leading the gaze even further into the distance where the field ends along a natural border of trees.
