Something that's always bothered me, as I greatly dislike organized religion (since it's one of the main reasons the USA is so fucked, phony "morality" spewed by the right, the bigoted, dogmatic lies and fear they use to oppress the masses): the widespread usage of the the terms 'good' and 'evil' despite the fact that they are subjective terms.

Morality is made up human bullshit.

I like to use 'decent' instead of good, and 'shitty' or 'awful' instead of evil.

What always bothered me about James Bond movie villains was that they delighted in being #evil. They explicitly chose to be evil, announced it, bragged about just how evil they were.

I don't know who said it, but I read someone once "Everyone is the #hero in their own story". The people doing evil, from their own POV, are doing #good, for the good of the world.

See: missionaries, moral crusaders, drug laws, politicians.

I like the idea of comparing the #nice with the #kind. (I'm assuming you mean "nice" in the 21st century sense, rather than the 18th century sense.) This can make for a more fruitful discussion of #ethics.

As for "good" being more subjective, I'm not sure what you mean, and would like to hear more about it. Caveat: I think you might get some arguments from Platonists!

@arossp it's sad indeed that you even need to #contemplate but I suspect having #kids minds not focused on a #hetero #cis #boy killing all their #teachers and therefore not #screaming and causing the #mindless #American cis hetero #boy to #panic and kill more kids in that #panicked state, may well be a #good thing one day.

ITMT think about the #problem of the #drill in its actual #context - why does anyone #think it's #needed?
