This is Chicagohenge, a twice-yearly event where the sun aligns with the axis created by our grid system of streets at the spring/autumn equinoxes. Instagram tip for tourists: plan to gather around 6:00p to get a good shot.

Based on Chicago’s grid system, the streets create a perfect alignment between the sun and the urban canyons created by the skyscrapers of the Loop. In this photo, the sun is a fiery penny at the base of the horizon, filling the entire frame with orange light. I am behind people who are also photographing the sunset, so shoulders and backs of heads are also visible.

Can I please get some good vibes sent towards my wife and the family.

Doctor just called and stated that they want to put her mom on hospice/comfort care immediately and requested that the family get to the hospital as quickly as possible.

Unfortunately, things have gotten worse over the last two days as we were told 2 days ago that she likely has less than a week to live.

She's battling stage 4 stomach cancer that's spread throughout her body.

Can I get some good vibes this way please. My mother-in-law is in the hospital and has been for a couple of days, but it appears things are at the worst right now. They are starting to mention hospice will likely happen sometime this week as everything is basically shutting down slowly because of the stage 4 cancer she has. We don't think she's got much longer.
