Tree spacing in a #ForestGarden is ¼-½ of avg tree diameter to allow light through to understorey.

Windbreak hedges (I use a mix & mostly #NativePlants) are planted at about 0.3m-0.5m. If you can, plant double thickness.

Plant out #GroundCover in a #ForestGarden at about 3-5 plants per m²

In #QCAD, use the `Information Tools` `Distance Point to Point` to calculate a distance, and `Polygonal Area` to calculate an area.

CAD (Computer Aided Design) is a really useful tool for #GardenDesign, because you can figure out #tree spacing and quickly calculate lengths for #windbreak hedges & areas for #GroundCover & #NativePlant #WildFlowers

A plan also communicates ideas with partners, and documents plants to help with maintenance
