A #Crimean #Tatar-led underground movement is already active behind Russian lines and hundreds of young Tatar men are ready to take up arms to liberate the occupied peninsula, a veteran community leader has said.
Mustafa Dzemilev, widely seen as the godfather of the Crimean Tatar rights movement, pointed to operations by the #Atesh #guerrilla #group, comprising Crimean Tatars, Ukrainians and Russians, in Crimea and other occupied Ukrainian regions.
Atesh, which means “fire” in Crimean Tatar, was created in September last year, primarily to carry out acts of #sabotage from within the ranks of the Russian army. Two Californians set up a pair of political action committees, called the #Liberty #Action #Group and the #Progressive #Priorities #PAC, to cash in on the growing rift between Republicans and Democrats, the U.S. Justice Department said.
The two groups made more than 275 million robocalls over a 16-month period and netted nearly $4 million in small-dollar contributions.
Rather than using the money to buy television ads or run get-out-the-vote efforts, prosecutors said, the men behind the PACs lined their own pockets.
The two committees distributed $19 to political campaigns and causes, prosecutors said, while organizers kept more than $1.5 million for themselves.
The two California men were sentenced this year to a combined 17 years in prison for the sham political fundraising operation, seven years after the first allegations of misconduct.

I have a #question for those that use #ScreenReaders. I've started the #habit of dropping #hashtags inline with whatever I'm #typing. As opposed to listing them out in a #group, usually at the bottom of my #toot, like this:

I pushed another update to the #bot because I was kinda on a roll.
I realized that boosting all posts quickly results in spam and thus changed it that only the original/first post is #boosted. This allows for the creation of threads, where the first post is boosted and replies are then included, allowing for a sort of creation of threads.
This will allow for more logical conversations, grouping a post, and its replies together. This also allows for the moderation of comments on a post, without needing to remove a bunch of boosts and posts or disturbing the rest of the thread.
Let me know what you think about the idea, other features you would like, and any bugs 🐛 if you come across them!

@joshsusser I don’t know if you’re meaning a group on Mastodon specifically, or just anywhere, BUT I have found an online writing community called writing.com, recently, and I have found that they are the most active, most supportive, most welcoming and responsive community of writers I have ever come across! They have TONS of groups, & I haven’t checked specifically for #actuallyautistic #scifi ones because that’s not my genre, or ‘diagnosis’ (for lack of a better word; I don’t personally believe that someone has to have an actual clinical diagnosis to claim this as part of their identity), but I do know that they have just about every genre, subgroup, type of writer, and category under the sun whenever I’m looking around for other writers to review & connect with! The link to my ‘portfolio’ is on my profile in my bio if you would like to check out the site from there! I’m also part of a #disabilities #writers #group on there that I know has both neurodivergent and autistic members, and physically/medically disabled alike, as members within the group. 😁
I hope that if you don’t think my suggestion is for you, that somebody else will respond w the right place for you because you truly deserve to find a writing community where you feel you belong, and that can help you reach your highest aspirations!
