ドラゴンクエスト ダイの大冒険
第1話「オレは小さな勇者ダイ!!」を視聴。

いわゆる「旧アニメ」を今日から観ていく。
令和の世となり、ファンにとっては贅沢なことに、原作や新アニメを含めた3作品を見比べられるようになった。
このレビューも比較が話題の中心になっていきそう。

勇者でろりん一味との戦いは、新アニメでは船上での戦いが印象的だったが、こちらは原作通りにロモス城内が舞台になっている。
逆に台詞回しでは、新アニメは原作に忠実なシーンが多いけど、こちらはオリジナル台詞が多めで分かりやすさを心がけている様に感じた。

「勇者のかぶる覇者の冠！」
これはブラスじいちゃんに叱られてへこんでいるダイの頭上で、ゴメちゃんが勇者の冠の真似をするシーンでのダイの台詞。
覇者の冠は言わずと知れたアレ。冠の伝説は物知りなブラスじいちゃんがダイに語ったのだろうけど、その冠を装備して戦った勇者の存在（恐らくアバンとは別の勇者）が、この台詞からは気にかかるところ。

「勇者でろりんよ、相手は子供じゃ。もう許してやったらどうだ？」
人格者であることが最近身の回りで話題になってるw、ロモスのシナナ王の台詞。勇者でろりんの非道さが強調されており、ここでの台詞の追加はなかなかよい仕事。

キングスライムが込められた特別な「金の筒」は、「魔法の玉」に変更。
玉はのちのち原作の終盤にも登場するけど（ザボエラが筒を改良）、案外三条先生が旧アニメのこのシーンを憶えていて、原作側に逆輸入した可能性はある。

あと、原作との違いというわけではないけど。
戦士へろへろは常によだれをたらしていたり、王宮で料理を手づかみしていたり、描写の人外っぷりがひどい。この男は本当はトロルなのではないか？

原作の「デルパ！イルイル！」は元々DQ4の発売前に発表され、DQ4タイアップという企画性が強かった。だから、キングスライムをはじめとしたDQ4の新モンスターの登場が元々のオチになっていて、オチもこの企画性を踏まえたサプライズだった。
DQ4の発表後の作品である旧アニメではDQ4の紹介は意味のないオチになっているため、その文脈が上手く消されているのは新アニメと同じ。同じ原作から生まれている新アニメと見比べ、これはこれで堅実な仕事と感じた。

Today I learned that resizing images on a Squarespace site involves adding spacer blocks around it, because the convenience of Squarespace is a return to 2002-era web development. #GULP

I was cleaning up my code folder and stumbled upon a website project I didn't touch since December 2020, so, two years. Nothing extraordinary, just a #Pug + #Sass + #Bootstrap portfolio website, built with #Gulp.

Well, after trying for about 30 minutes, I still couldn't bring it to build properly. It was error upon error. 🙄

This is why I dislike the #JavaScript ecosystem so much. Even in #Python, it wouldn't be that critical, let alone something like #C or #Java.

wow, #GULP interface. Lots of room for improvement.. UX not found 🤣

If I'm making a (private) :javascript: #JavaScript library which is then processed using #Gulp, #Babel, etc., should I commit the final compiled version in :git: version control or not?

Right now, I've set up a postinstall hook so which automatically runs babel on my `src/` and generates a usable `lib/` wherever the module is installed—thereby minimising version control, but adding more to the build time 🕐
