Finally finished my own hat to (vaguely) match the one I made my husband. This is crochet, took about 4 months for me to complete it because I'm extremely slow. I am really pleased with how the color looks on me. The pattern is "The Common People Hat" by Martin Up North. I did a lot better with the final seam this time... it's practically invisible on my hat. Sort of wish that I had made my hat first and my husband's second so that his would have the more invisible seam, but he does not seem to care.

Any hats experts out there? Two characters in The Avengers epi today had this strange headwear with side supports. (the stick-ish things on either side.) The two were pretending to be clerics but were really gangsters. Any ideas? Lens was no help. I'll adjust my search parameters but no luck.

If you can't dress weird, why dress at all?
I like hats. Not just ballcaps (boring) but interesting and colourful hats. I had Sombreros, Rasta-Tams, every kind of Cowboy and stocking cap.
I wear headphones, and I like the cushion of a tuque.
My other hat is in the wash, so I grabbed a hat with a tassel on it and the cat looks ready to pounce.
WANT: slightly quirky and/or understated baseball cap/s. nerdy stuff (but not like, the word "GEEK" in huge impact font, wtf people), unusual or tastefully minimal logos, etc.
DO NOT WANT: to accidentally support garbage websites that rip off artists or pump out low-quality products. (see: redbubble, spreadshirt)
Like, I find myself searching around to see if Threadless is still any good (they were, like 15-20 years ago?) or wondering if I can dodge sketchy sellers on Etsy.
I made myself a hat today for gardening. I might use a pattern next time, but it fits quite perfectly, won’t blow off, isn’t tight and breathes. Not sure I could repeat it.

Growing up in a swamp I found it hard to relate to most 90s sitcoms. Jordan Catalano brooding. Balki Bartokomous. Steve Urkel being allowed to visit at all. None of it made any sense to me. But I still watched. Like they watched Joey McCobb in "Ghost World." Mostly to complain. Now Blossom wore a lot of hats. I didn't mind the hats. Dixie County had its own hat trends. Beaver fedoras out from grandpa's closet. Welding caps. Bush Hog trucker hats. Fancy cowboy hats. My problem was with the crisis created by a school hat ban. Blossom had gone too far. This seemed too unrealistic. Until the Principal banned all hats at Dixie County High School. Just like on Blossom. There was talk of bringing us together. Dissolving cliques.
