How might I savour a positive response?
Especially when you struggle with #depression or any sort of #MentalHealth problems, it's hard to see past it and think of a brighter future. Of better days. To get sucked into the darkness. But just because you can't see the light, doesn't mean it's not there.
It’s amazing that I can be sitting in my morning shrouded living room in a random town in Oregon, typing on a second hand iPad, while the rest of my family sleeps. And that this message can travel the world in seconds where good people can encounter it and perhaps have it resonate with them is just beyond magic? We take many things for granted in modern times, and forget how different the world is now vs say in the 80’s.
I hope you find something to take #joy in today. And perhaps pause a moment and let the troubles of the world fade for a second and ponder some of the amazing good things that are happening.
Good news doesn’t sell ads, but we can be a force for #hope and stand against darkness on a day to day basis.

You told me to pick a side.
I picked the outside.
I picked the flowers and the trees and the deer and the bees. I wish I could have picked the humans, but they have shown that they are only filled with anger and hate one too many times.
Nature has survived a lot. Meteors and ice ages and floods. It will survive us too. We will change it of course, but when we are done tearing each other apart it will rebuild and go on without us. It will be beautiful.
Perhaps my purpose here is just to make sure as much of it survives the transition as I can, and then return quietly to the soil. Small pockets of life with a hope of holding against the storm.
I will ease what human suffering I can along the way, as futile as it seems.
I think this piece is done. I like it enough to leave it.

I will forever be an #optimist, bc I see #hope in myself, so I don't discount it in others. People who call cynicism or hopelessness 'realist' I have no time for. They give up before they try to fight, & when encouragement is necessary spread hopelessness & cynicism instead. How is that leadership? If we design well, use best practices, have flexible but high standards, push for ideal solutions to environmental problems & poverty, we'll see real, exciting, inspiring, growing change.
