It’s still hard for me to believe that everything in cellular #biology that I learned in #highschool in the early 90’s had been discovered as little as 40 years before.

The stupidity and ignorance of people is always astounding. Enlightened we are not.
One Type of Misinformation Is Commonly Overlooked as Benign. Here's Why It Isn't.
Two things I know:
1) The #FBI doesn't send in a #SWAT team to execute a pre-dawn warrant for no reason.
2) #FoxNews lies.
Their story is based entirely on the uninformed family. In the absence of any actual information, the family has filled in the blanks with their #assumptions and speculations. It's a classic argument from #ignorance. "I don't know, therefore whatever makes sense in my head is true."
Let's wait for information before jumping to absurd conclusions.
This is a crystal clear example of #unconstitutional viewpoint #discrimination. #Bigoted state #officials do not get to violate the #FirstAmendment just because they don't like #gays existing in public, and engaging in activities that everyone else can freely engage in. Where are the fuckin #lawsuits??

I feel like 99% of the people who use the word 'capitalism' in a post on any social media site have no idea:
1. What is actually is.
2. How it functions.
3. How any of the alternatives function in reality.
It really is quite mind-blowing.
Pure speculation on my part ,based on training & experience & being forced to find an excuse to assuage consciences & ignore the obvious, as that would not be patriotic .
Key factors are he was a Vet at age 24 and came back damaged ,as evidenced by his being treated by Veteran affairs.
He was pissed of he was denied what he wanted
He was carrying a gun
Presumably he had been in a situation where humans were non human & therefore killable ,etc
Now, as a community mourns the loss of a beloved health worker in a place traditionally considered safe, the suspect’s mother is apologizing to the families of those slain and hurt. She also has a message for anyone asked to help someone with physical illness: “Don’t disregard them.”
Yes, I changed to physical as unless some illness is proven to be the cause & he is let go it is irrelevant. Excusing behaviour based on bias is common

The very idea of legislatively prohibiting education about "scientific theories" would be laughable were it not so harrowing to contemplate, particularly in the shadow of the very real legal fights within living memory about whether it is legal to teach the theory of natural selection. Nearly every scientific concept we take for granted (i. e. gravity) is classified as a Theory because scientists are keenly aware that our comprehension of natural phenomena is incomplete.
I am reminded of the historical anecdote - once presented as a curious humorous silly exercise, now more of a cautionary tale - about how one state tried to put forward legislation defining that π to be equal to 3.2. I wish I were making this up.
