Sure, safety and security are important, but they must follow the research not define it.
Machines can cause harm only when in operation.
IMO the best (only) way to assure security and safety is confining #AI to the language (consulting) domain, preventing it from having too much agency such as “pushing buttons”.
Also, if it becomes too smart it is useless to us, and I’m sure we’ll find a way to “dumb it down”.
The truth is that intelligence is never a precondition for getting into a position of power. Quite the opposite.

The core irony of generative AIs is that AIs were supposed to be all logic and no imagination. Instead we get AIs that make up information, engage in (seemingly) emotional discussions, and which are intensely creative. And that last fact is one that makes many people deeply uncomfortable.

My professional testing as part of my autism evaluation was only 2 points higher than what that site told me. 2 points is negligible. A missed meal or poor night's sleep can cause a greater variation in scores than that.
Though, the testing on that site costs $8, and I questioned my intelligence in paying them, it was a good stepping stone towards understanding myself. In fact, most of that test's content was given to me during my official autism testing, so it's no surprise the scores were so close!
I'm glad I did both tests. I spent my entire 40 years feeling incredibly stupid for struggling with so many things. Getting legitimate proof I actually am intelligent & my issues are social in nature was a massive relief & gave me a little confidence in myself I never would have gotten otherwise.
