@schizanon Yeah, deity knows there's enough of those floating around. I'm looking specifically at #ionicframework both for the native integrations, as well as simply using #css for layout (which I'm really good at), vs learning another layout system just for the sake of being "native". Also, one thing I'm keen on is having the option to use apps without an account, maybe storing data locally in a #sqlite db, with the ability to cloud sync #joplin style with the provider of your choice? IDK 🤷🏻♂️

I think i want to start making small simple utility apps for iOS and android as a side hustle. Maybe $1.99 annually for premium features? $1.99 to buy the app outright? Idk - does anyone know of a blog or YouTube channel with a similar journey for simple (yet polished) apps? Most data I’m seeing is for games.
Since it’s a side hustle I’ll probably be using Ionic and React since it’s adjacent to my daily tech stack.

It's tricky flip-flopping between #javascript and #java. #ionicframework #capacitorjs
The only big thing left to address is share-sheet integration, which I still am completely clueless how to achieve with #IonicFramework or #CapacitorJS. I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually.
Also the code is a bit of a mess and could use some refactoring, but that's always true.
In the unlikely(?) scenario that support for #ionicframework ceases, I am evaluating alternative cross-platform #mobileapplication development frameworks.

Had a great gaming session this morning and then did some deep dives into what I am studying up on (#ionicframework, navigation and routing). Watched some of the @NHLBruins win, took a nap, and dove into refreshing my JavaScript chops.
I've released the first major update to #LinkThing: now you can add bookmarks! It even supports clipboard detection so it can pull a URL from your clipboard and auto-fill the metadata.

@stroughtonsmith I'll #showcase LinkThing, a simple client app for linkding (a self-hosted bookmark manager). Built with #IonicFramework, someday I'll actually release it.
An update on #LinkThing (my work in progress #linkding app): it now supports infinite scrolling, toggling read/unread via swipes, and basic editing. #IonicFramework (with #react) is really a joy to work with.
I still need to support deleting and searching. I also want some way to surface the info that linkding scrapes from URL on the edit page. But it’s coming along nicely.
I’ve wanted to make a #pinboard app for a long time now, but the API was always so weird and there was always a promise of a new API soon (I still don’t think it’s out). #linkding is nice and self-hosted but lacks an iOS app. So I threw something together with #ionicframework and I think this will be a fun side project for me. I’m calling it LinkThing.
Does anyone know if Ionic made it to the Fediverse?
