Weirdly woke-up to an unresponsive iPhone (13 Pro, iOS 16.4) like it was fully bricked…
Plugged it into my Mac and forced it into restore mode. My Mac said something like “There’s a problem with your iPhone so it needs to be updated or restored” I opted for “update” to avoid a lengthy restore process right before leaving for the airport for a weekend trip. The USB update worked and now my iPhone is alive again! 🎉

My iPhone 11 has a bug which drives me absolutely fucking nuts.
At random times, the auto-brightness just stops working and fixes to a set brightness.
I’ve tried restarts and resets, and while they fix the problem for a bit, it _will_ break at some point.
All the hardware tests pass and Apple have looked at it too.
I think it’s software because it used to stop at about 40%. But since iOS 16.3, it now stops at 50%.
I’m off to restart my phone. Again.

Amazing what is possible on a non-jailbreaken iPhone nowadays.
So langsam muss ich mich entscheiden ob ich die e2e Verschlüsselung der #iCloud nutzen möchte. Dafür muss ich dann aber mein #iPadAir2 von 2014, welches #iOS16 nicht mehr erhalten hat, aus meiner AppleID wohl entfernen. Derzeitiger Plan ist das iPad in einem separaten Account weiter zu nutzen. I just found an excellent app by an independent dev. History Book by @zhenyi (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/history-book-browse-search/id1619241039)
Every website you go to it records locally on device. Syncs with iCloud if you want and if you have Advanced Data Protection it’s totally encrypted. You can also set it to exclude certain websites.

How do you customize the lock screen widgets in #iOS16? Apple’s and other websites say to long-press the screen, but nothing happens when I do this.

@tomfinley sometimes #Apple changes / improvements take a few days to get used to but that's not the case here. There's some sort of step backwards.

Hey @Apple, deleting a message is insanely difficult in #iOS16. I have to swipe, then click on an idiotic "do you really want to do that" button, then I have to click an "is this junk" question in a different popup. Give me a break. The swipe alone (w/ and undo) should be enough.
