I just watched Chris Hayes on with Lisa Rubin talking about the threats #judge Engoron's clerk got. It FINALLY SUNK IN. These threats are NOT acceptable. Maybe it was because of the 275 pages of transcribed threats.
Chris often lumps together criticism of public officials with the kind of threats people have gotten following the time of Trump. It's hard for the media to say, "Shut them up" or "The government must punish the people who said that." But someone needs to.

I’m not sure it’s fair to hold the #Colorado #judge accountable for language written in the 1800s that excluded mention of the president. Legally, its absence was always going to be the sticking point. I’m taking this as a win b/c she used her ruling to cohesively lay out how #Trump was responsible for the #January6th #insurrection, which in turn creates #legal standing that will empower future prosecutions.

Per this #judge, your #internet #search #data can be freely — and warrantlessly — given to #cops. They don't even need to name the user who made the searches they're after. All cops need to do to find arson suspects, for example, is to demand the internet search company provide a list of people who have recently searched for arson-related topics. Your presumed guilt isn't a factor at all.

Just had an interesting phone call with a retired #attorney friend who is on a mission to teach every #judge in the US to identify veiled #SovereignCitizen rhetoric in their courtroom and respond appropriately instead of letting pro se defendants waste time, clog up the courts, and run up costs.
