I made this adorable Chicken Hat for my granddaughter. They have chickens in their backyard, so I hope she loves it! The pattern came from the Eggs for Easter motif in my book, Charming Colorwork Socks. I used a combination of stranded colorwork and Ladder Back Jacquard method to knit the chickens.

I finished knitting my shawl, and I am extremely happy with the final result! It was quite a journey, with a lot of unraveling and starting over. Lifelines were a lifesaver during this process. I am truly proud of this project; it might be the most beautiful thing I have ever created!

Bright almost neon knitted leg warmers coiled up like snails. One still has its double pointed needles as it is not quite complete. Colours are bright yellow grading to oranges, pastel pinks and fuschia pink to deep purple. One legging has more of a purple wave running along it. The other is more mottled.

Next up in my #knitting journey:

Attempting toe up socks. I have never knitted socks prior, don't know if that is an advantage or not.

Yarn is acrylic and basically just for testing out the concept.

I have started and restarted the toebox a few times before getting a version where my tension is ok and it looks rather good at the edge.

Are you bringing the yarn back still attached or are you cutting it every row and weaving at the end?

I normally avoid having ends to weave at the end, but so think it works well with this model...

I've picked up a WIP that I've been avoiding for a while.
It's a shawl in a long banana shape, and the main part has garter stitch, twisted ribbing and lace which is completed.
Now I'm up to the lacy border, worked sideways and knitted onto the body as you go.
I've never joined this way so had been putting off knitting.
Bit the bullet today and started. Done the first set of rows of 28 sets and was pleasantly surprised at how easy it is.

One doll down, now making the other one! Eyes will go better in the 2nd one now that I know how it works.

I'm excited and want to give it out but my husband reminded me to finish BOTH first, when you have two kids, it is the way.

This glove saved my left hand today when I tripped on the uneven sidewalk and took a fall. I’m fine! Not a scratch on my hand. Well, so, I fixed the hole. Kinda ugly but better than a hole! I have other gloves, but I like these. 🥰

The tear is in the palm area where the rose, pink and white stripes are.

Cast off complete! My new #knit scarf is ready for cold winds!

Self-striping "fireworks" colour scheme in Lion Brand's "homespun" acrylic yarn. Knit lengthwise, and maybe a little longer/skinnier than ideal, but it works when wrapped double!

This was my easy knit project, for working while watching TV or listening to the radio. But it turned out that knit 4, purl 4 requires just enough counting & attention that it also ended up being practice for undoing & redoing incorrect stitches!

The yarn is chunky and a little uneven so the stitches aren't perfectly smooth, but it is soft and shiny. Colour stripes run lengthwise in dark blue, light blue, red, green, and dark blue again, with crosswise texture bars of alternating knit and purl sections (like knit ribbing, but wider).

Socktober is finished. Please with my effort - 9 pairs of sockies...😊

Knitting work-in-progress. First attempt at an actual garment (beyond scarf or headband).

Sleeveless top #knit from yoke neck down. Just bound off the shoulders, trying to figure out the appropriate shaping for the front & back before I connect them up again under the arms. Of course I'm not using a pattern, that would be too complicated.

Neck is a little wider than I'd planned. The eyelet pattern in the middle of the yoke is a little too subtle. But mostly happy with it so far.

The shirt-yoke starts with a wide boat neck in a bright purple yarn, with a couple rings of different texture and eyelet patterns as the colour of the yarn shifts to dark forest green then bright teal. The yoke is about 12cm wide, reaching the top of the shoulders, where it is finished with a smooth edge. In front and back the circular yoke hangs lower, with the outer edge is still attached to cable knitting needles, with coloured paper clips also hanging off as stitch-counting markers. In addition to the colour-shift gradient, the yarn has a tweed-like irregular mix of white and a reflective plastic thread blended throughout.

Great American Aran Afghan, one of my most loved projects on Ravelry. Took 14 months to knit, finished in April 2010.

@sundogplanets Yes! I #knit this from scrap wool yarn, then felted it in the washer and sewed the sides. The elastic and button closure allows surprisingly good air flow; I usually put the #aranet4 in so that the vents are towards the top.

Wasn't happy with original idea for granddaughter's shawl so started & finished a different design. Going to undo the other and use this pattern instead.
Though the other was too 'heavy/old' for them.
Need to block this and add tassels to 2 corners.
