Finally plucked out a #Lamy Vista Demonstrator #fountainpen to fill up and take notes, as my new #Kaweco Steel Sport is in the next room. I'd bought this thing in a grumpy mood when I realised I'd misplaced my old AL-Sport during lockdown.

I had forgotten how horribly SCRATCHY that standard M nib is. I may have just worn the one I started with smooth, and abused the tines apart to make it write wetter at some point, but holy cats that's not a great experience.

I want to compare against a #Pilot Metropolitan at some point, but they simply aren't for sale in Europe.

Wow. I just tried my new #Lamy Vista Black. Broad nib is broad. It glides on the page like silk, which is fantastic, but it is a very thick line.

In the future, I may stick with Medium nib. I'm going to write with it some more before I pass final judgement though.

I plan to order a glass dip pen at some point, so when I do, I may order a Medium nib to swap the Broad nib out. It really depends on how it looks on the page after the writing is done.

Just received my #Lamy Vista Black #fountainpen with a Broad nib from #GouletPens today, along with a free selection of random ink samples offered for signing up for the email newsletter.

I'm about to inspect the pen and try it out. I've never tried a Broad nib before, but generally prefer Medium nibs over Fine nibs, so I think I'll like it.

This is my second Lamy fountain pen. The first is a Lamy Al-Star with a Medium nib.

OK, so sometimes I buy things on the Internet.

Today I ordered a Lamy Vista Black fountain pen with a broad nib From Goulet Pens.

It's basically a #Lamy Vista but the clip is black instead of chrome. It comes with a black nib and a black cartridge converter.

It will be my first broad nib pen and my second Lamy. My other is a Lamy Al-star with a Medium nib. I doubt it will be my last Lamy.

I do most of my #writing in fountain pen first, so it will see use.

The colour of it is inspired by traditional swedish porcelain and I have to say they did a good job with it. I inked it up with #lamy blue. A great "traditional" blue that to me captures the feeling of porcelain and office writing.

I inked the smaller one "Hallongrotta" up with #pilot iroshizuku momiji. I finished a couple of pens recently and these make a great pair 🖋✌️

Thanks to @penaddict and @imyke and the #penaddict # podcast, I have ordered a petrol #Lamy #Alstar #fountainpen. And an orange #pilot #prera. And some #inks. Because addiction.

@Anthro I use a #lamy at work every day, for about 7 years now, and it has never let me down. I don’t use fancy ink either, cheap black pelikan #ink, about a bottle every 2 years. 62ml per bottle, I see. Good pens!!

@cocolaco It’s hard to beat a #TWSBI Eco on bang for buck. Personally my hand wants something more curvy so I’d probably go for a #Pilot Metropolitan if I had to stay below $50. In practice I would splurge for a #LAMY Studio. #fountainpens

Meanwhile, it looks like this year’s #Lamy Studio special edition colour is Rose. This finish came out on the Scala in 2018, and it’s a tasteful, pale pink. #fountainpens

The 2023 special edition #Lamy AL-star Petrol and Lilac fountain pens look great, especially the Petrol. The Lilac looks halfway between the regular Black Purple (aka Shiraz) and the rather unpopular 2018 special edition Vibrant Pink. #fountainpens

Their refills didn't give me a consistent, break-free line so I swapped to Schmidt and was happy for a while.

Until today.

I bought a bottle of #RobertOster royal red, which I will need for my teacher's "correcting" pen 😆 , and I have a bottle of the #Parker Blue #Quink. They are all quite fast drying inks, compared to the messy splotchy inks I remember using as a child. I do like the #pilot #prera -- its a convenient size, and the "medium" nib is quite fine compared to the #Lamy medium nib. Maybe I'll get another…

I expected the #Lamy Flagship Store in NYC to be more than 200 square feet, but still. You can see and test all kinds of glorious pens. I got a Turmaline AL Star

@ana @futurebird hard same with the boring business look. That's why it took a _really_ long time for me to get a #Lamy 2000. It's a great #FountainPen, but I'd rather it be in more colors, like a Safari.
I also wish I could have gotten the Pilot Custom 743 with Waverly nib in _any_ other color than boring black. The nib is sooooo good though.

I got a compliment on a pen at work. Someome needed a "black ballpoint" and I was like.. I have a black pen 🙂 Not a ballpoint but its black ink and waterproof..

@lapis If I had the time and income I would be one of THOSE people who is like... a pen PERSON. As it stands I have two Lamy Safari pens (I think #Lamy is so popular because it's affordable and a good entry point into the fountain pen world) and I have another brand, I can't remember the name, but it's metal and sleeker. You can get disposable cartridges but you can also get refillable ones into which you can put any color you want!!! IDK man I love stationary 💘

I didn't much care for this years #lamy studio. It was revealed a few weeks ago now and still hasn't managed to get me hooked. It's a great pen, just not my colour..

My everyday pen is Pilot Penmanship with EF nib.

I also have this Pilot Animal pen, and Pilot Cavalier pen, both in F. Also one #Platinum pen with golden EF nib and my second favourite #Sailor with golden EF nib. :)

The only European pen I have is a rather rare #Lamy with a EF nib (rare as in it can be difficult to find this size, the model itself is not rare or expensive), but I almost never use it.

Forgot to order a converter for this, so had to fill up an old cartridge. Now this weighs much more than my other #lamy studios because of the extra capacity. #npd #fountainpens

Finally ran out or diamine soft mint and got some help filling up with #lamy #turmaline.
