I noticed that every time I open my #Calckey account (on the calckey.social instance) in the #Browser ¹, I always have to re-configure certain #Settings. E.g. the #Interface language setting (German instead of English), and also the #Layout preference (Deck instead of Default - where the deck #Configuration itself, once configured, is preserved and appears after switching from default layout to deck layout).
Does anyone have any idea why said #Settings are not preserved? Do the settings made have to be saved again somewhere else in the account settings to be permanently preserved? And if so, where exactly? Or does it have something to do with the calckey.social #Instance that the #Settings are not preserved? Does anyone know #Advice?

After some months of dwelling in the OSR and indie rpg sphere I've seen a bunch of VERY well laid out and A5 sized works, particularly for the OSR types of games and scenarios (dungeon/hex/city crawl...) but I'm yet to see similar works for more investigative types of games like CoC or VtM.
Would you have some suggestions as to where I should start looking ?
Some days it feels like a waste to spend an hour learning how to automate something that only takes a minute to do.
Other days you have to insert 3500 cross-references into a book.
Of course, there's probably all sorts of layout rules I'm breaking with the rest of the document, but ignorance is bliss. :thisisfine:

Ich hab jetzt seit gut einem Jahr den #Amazon #Fire TV Stick und seitdem gab es gefühlt eine dreistellige Anzahl #Updates für die #Software. Das ist ja grundsätzlich löblich aber muss tatsächlich bei 2/3 der Updates das #Menü und #Layout jedesmal vollständig geändert werden? Das nervt einfach.

Two tips for rulebook writers:
1) Use FEWER levels of headers. At most you only need 3 levels. I know more looks nice in your bookmark sidebar, but that's not how it reads on the page.
2) Know WHEN to use list format. Every rule does not need to be presented in list format. Restrain yourself to numbering step-by-step instructions or bulleting lists of conditional exceptions. That's pretty much it.

#DwarfFortress is an awesome #colony #simulator that shines so bright in this #genre. On the #SteamDeck, it runs near perfect, but needs a #controller #layout to really enjoy it.

Very rare to receive a word document with proper semantic styles appled.
Hence this is very useful: you can *use pandoc to convert word docs to markdown*.
What is cool is that you can then have pandoc make an icml for indesign, it imports images (linked to original locations) and styles.
