I really didn't want to make a MILS type of base for 32x32 and 48x48 base plates for some LEGO MOC displays.
Also wanted something a bit smaller than 32x32.
So I used some artist panels, foam core, matt black acrylic paint and some contact cement to make display bases.
And I found a nice model ship display case for making a 62x18 base with a protective dust cover
- 8"x8" artist panel for a 24x24 base plate (I cut down a 48x48 base plate)
- 12"x12" artist panel for a 36x36 base plate (I cut down a 48x48 base plate)
- paint artist panel leaving LEGO base plate area bare
- use contact cement to affix LEGO base plate to artist panel. Tape off painted area as needed
- fill in the underside of artist panel with foam core for a firm work surface. Glued in with carpenters glue
- build/mount your project

Two variations of the UCS #Lego Millennium Falcon under repairs. The older UCS model wasn't mine, I borrowed it from a friend for this photograph to try it out.
Celebrated the first day of fall by changing my #lego bonsai tree at work.
The original kit only came with branches and leaves for spring and summer, so of course I had to order custom parts for the other seasons!

This weeks #Lego #FossilFriday is #Apatosaurus.
Apatosaurus was originally found by Arthur Lakes and Henry C Beckwith in spring 1877, in Morrison. They contacted Othniel Charles Marsh, and after sending him some of the fossils, he named the species Apatosaurus.
Two years later March discovered a larger, more complete specimen and called it Brontosaurus. This was later synonyised to Apatosaurus.
Its still debated if Brontosaurus is its own species or just Apatosaurus.

Had a sort out and put a couple more of my Lego items out.
The Tie Fighter and Tie Bomber.
Both are MOC's and not Lego released sets.
Just need the Tie Interceptor and Tie Advanced to complete the set.
I've also got the large X-Wing, Y-Wing, B-Wing & A-Wing sets on display if anyone wants to see those.
There's also a Super Star Destroyer that's still packaged up from the move. At 1.2 meters long. I don;t have room for it yet.
Haven't even built the Saturn 5 Apollo 11 yet.

Tonight for my post I will not feature my cats as most nights (don’t worry they are fine, actually Tigre is, as usual, next to me waiting to see what we are going to do next), instead, behold this set of classic #lego sets. This is from the space police II line of around early 1990.
I really love all of these (and I think I have a second copy of that big ship in my storage that I should put somewhere visible in the house).

The earliest examples of T. rex fossils date back to 1874. Arthur Lakes found teeth near Golden Colorado.
In the early 1890s, John Bell Hatcher found postcranial elements in eastern Wyoming. These were believed to belong to a massive species of Ornithomimus.
In 1892, Edward Drinker Cope found two vertebral fragments and thought they belonged to an "agathaumid" dinosaur, he named Manospondylus gigas.
The only upside to being sick for a week was having an excuse to build this #lego set ⛺️

The thing about ChessMaster by CalebMiranda is that like the designer, I also have an unhealthy love of chess variants and the pitch of a modular Lego Chess board that can support almost any board configuration (including stacked 3D and four player) is too good to pass up.
I do think the pieces would need a bit of work before this could become a real set though.

I know Lego bookends are a bit of tend right now but I actually want this on a shelf quite bad, of all the sets this is the one that would guarantee a purchase from me.
Working Lego Bicycle by SleepyCow is another piece of wizardry by the designer of the grand piano set, the amount of realistic mechanisms crammed into a set this small is remarkable.
