I once built what I considered at the time to be the "World's Largest LED Cube" which was a 10 foot cube with 27 LEDs and it looked like this...

It used an Arduino MEGA to control 27 relays and 27 LED light bulbs. The whole thing was built using PVC piece and could be assembled on site and broken down to fit in my car.

This was the simplest and probably most successful Maker Faire project I ever did.

"Overhead Makey" consisted of a bunch of gels and stencils and overhead projectors.

I saw many other Faires borrow/replicate the idea, which made me really happy.

Kids and adults both liked it, and no one got hurt, so that's a win!

Some #accidental #cameraobscura happening with these shelves Ali made from cardboard and joint compound plaster. I poked little holes in backs when they were cardboard so I could run wires through to light up some of my doodles. I didn't even realize what we had made till the room was dark.

The custom shelves are really neat, each cubby with a doodle glows a different color!

Down the memory lane

Being back for a few moments in Brumleby last autumn brought back good memories from our time in Copenhagen.

I often brought ny youngest son to this playground during our stay and my parental leave.

元ライトテーマ原理主義の自分が、ダークモードの UI デザインの感覚つかむためにダークモードずっと使ってて、ダークモードのデザインにもちょっとした利点があるなと思った。

ダークモードのほうが背景の彩度を上げやすい気がする。
背景色の彩度が上がると、サイト全体でテーマカラー感が出せるので、Vivaldi のタイリングみたいに複数の画面を並べたりした時に、どの領域がなんのサイトなのかがちょっとだけ判別しやすくデザインすることができる（例えば Mastodon の Web UI は背景が全体的にちょっと青みがかってるので判別しやすい、みたいな）

逆にライトテーマだと、背景色はほとんど彩度がない色じゃないとちょっとデザインとして違和感が出てきちゃうケースが多い（もちろん LP みたいなデザインだったらライトなデザインでも背景色にカラーはいることはあるけど、UI 的なものだとなかなかカラー背景採用することは多くないはず）

ダークモードだと UI のデザインであっても、背景色に許容できる彩度がちょっと高くなる気がする。
