A continuation of my earlier image of shrinking an ant.
My friend Oats said Donns should be small and get shrunk and I disagreed saying that dragons are big and do the shrinking as per my previous white mage image. I then got attacked with this art.
Poor Inno ant who is still shrunk on the ground below me before I so rudely got snatched up by a lizard.
The mature bark of the Black Cherry tree is described as burnt cornflakes. The dark crackling texture makes a terrific natural abstract.

The spider I posted earlier has been identified by @canyakker and @kernpanik – thank you! It's a crab spider, likely a male Xysticus lanio, which turns out to be fairly common here in central Europe.
Here's another shot of it, perched atop a sapling whose stem has been colonized by aphids (and ants milking them for honeydew).

Another one from when I took my macro lens to the forest last week. Really happy with this one – I've never really photographed spiders before, it was sorta tricky because the depth of field is maybe a millimeter at this distance and it was a bit windy!

If you're interested I've got a deep dive on the Sigma 105mm F2.8 macro on my website. I'm using the L-Mount version on the LUMIX S5 and S5II, but the Sony E mount is identical.
Not everything works well at macro level and shallow focus. Some things look too surreal and unfamiliar. But some things just draw you in to examine the beauty and detail that we could not previously appreciate without getting super close.
Recently adopted a macro lens for my LUMIX S5 and honestly it's been an absolute joy exploring the world through a new perspective.
I'm not into focus stacking or maximizing depth of field though, quite the opposite. It's the shallow focus that I love so much, and working a composition from subjects at a small scale.

The Euphorbia Myrsinites or Donkey Spurge or Tail, is a sprawling, evergreen, succulent. The grey blue spiraling leaves and the chartreuse yellow flower cluster is quite attractive in the garden as groundcover.

These tiny, orange brown umbrella shaped mushrooms were sprouting all over this dead, damp, decayed log on the Speed River Trail in Guelph Ontario Canada. The fall season is a great time for discovering mushrooms of all kinds hiding in the forest.

It's #WorldBeeDay! I love bees, especially bumble bees. I worked for a beekeeper for one full year, so I got to do every seasonal activity of beekeeping. Each time I witnessed bees emerging from the hive, I cheered them on: "Go bees, go!"

The Turkey Tail mushroom, also known as Trametes versicolor or Coriolus versicolor, grows on dead hardwood trees throughout the world.This particular dead tree was just loaded with these fungi that seem to grow in layers vertically up the tree and make a lovely nature abstract.

Happy #FlyDay Marsh flies (Dictya sp.) usually eat snails and slugs as maggots. Then they grow up to be these gorgeous flies all dressed up for a '30s themed party. I especially love the feathery arista on this one.

The Cornelian Cherry bush is not actually a cherry tree or bush, and does not have cherries although you can eat the fruit. It is a member of the Dogwood family, an early spring bloomer with tiny yellow flower clusters on woody stems and branches.

The Golden Crowned Kinglet, Regulus satrapa, is a very small songbird with a yellow and black crown. This particular Kinglet had flown into a window and sat dazed on the deck for a few minutes. When I knew it was not hurt, I took some macro shots before it left to flit around the trees in the yard.
